Backpack in to a private tent site with peaceful surroundings and great views, Hike the many trails around here to a creek and old gold mine. $15/day with your own tent and gear. Opportunity to work trade for long-term stay and trail workers, before or after your job, stay 1 week FREE !

Semi-remote secluded van/cabin rental available for part work trade and part cash.

$500 per month rent value with up to 50% off the cash by trade for some hours of your time. Helping towards completion of a few improvements to the site, which I am currently working on and other projects involving trail work, gardening, etc.

It’s only 10 miles to town of Yreka on maintained road, but a short and steep driveway to site is best with all wheel drive or 4WD vehicle. It’s fine if you do not have a vehicle and are a backpack traveler that likes to walk.!

Off grid living with only small solar electric system and batteries for lighting, etc., with water hauled in or collection of precipitation. The van has a small wood burning stove for heating and cooking, plus a small propane cook stove.

Cozy shelter for someone under 5′ 10″ best, for sleeping and small indoor space. I have lived and traveled in this van for many years and it is a solid shelter for one not looking towards luxury accommodations.

There is a 6×4 metal shed for your use and room to park one vehicle. The surrounding area is beautiful mixed forest of large trees in the headwaters of a moist mountain drainage. Public Forest Service land adjoins the border with many miles of dirt roads for exploration walking or wheeling around.

Preference towards a single man or woman, hardy type, outdoor experience, fit enough to walk uphill, non smoker, retired or not, but not needing to have a paying job to go to.

For activities there’s hiking the several miles of trails, peaceful nature observing and even potential musical collaboration if you are so inclined. I have guitars, keyboard and lots of songs to work on…

Exact location withheld until I talk with you, but it is in far north California, near Yreka, at 4600 feet elevation. Currently, spring is here and summer is coming. Hardy outdoor living experience is required.

I live at my basecamp, where I’m building the log and earth structure you are welcome to see, and use some “backcountry camp” type amenities. There is a hot water shower, kitchen, music/reading (with keyboard, guitar and books), solar charging station, greenhouse and garden areas, and more.
