Who are we?

Castrima Collective is a 6 bedroom/3 bath coop starting up in West Oakland. We care deeply about liberation and envision a world free of punitive punishment. In our coop, we hope to practice transformative justice, nurture each other, and build the collaborative structures of our dreams.

Timing: November move-in (date flexible).

Accessibility: There are 5 steps from the ground floor to the front door. There are 20 steps from the 1st floor to the 2nd floor. There are 18 steps from the 2nd to 3rd floor. The unit is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. All doorknobs in the house are the round twist kind rather than handles. We are not a fragrance-free household. The house gets a lot of natural light and air circulation during the day.

Who are you?

• Someone who is supportive of queer, transgender, non-binary, and gender-expansive Black people, Indigenous people, and people of color. Someone who is committed to non-punitive ways of relating to others, and will not call the police in the case of resolvable conflict* (as defined by members).
• Someone who is excited to live in community and build something new with others.
• Someone who is excited about covid safety because it means safety of us all.
• We are open to couples, but no cats or dogs at this time due to allergies.
