Dancing Catamount Cooperative Homestead
Cooperative homestead seeking new members.
Dancing Catamount Cooperative Homestead is a limited equity cooperative with the mission of providing its Members with affordable housing and community facilities, cultivating community resilience, and collectively producing organic food and herbs for our own consumption. We are creating the social fabric for collective homegrown food, including a model for private ownership conversions to shared, cooperative ownership of land and the means of food, medicine, and housing production. We each have our own private dwellings and share the growing of food and medicine and the stewardship of a beautiful piece of land nestled high in the foothills of the Worcester Range of Central Vermont.
Our membership process begins with an application and interview, followed by an invitation to rent one of the available spaces for 3 months to a year. We’re excited to get to know you and support you in getting to know us, the land and this special part of Vermont.
During the trial membership you’ll participate in all the processes of being at Dancing Catamount from our collaborative meeting space, to growing food and maintaining the land, to our occasional community meals and work parties. The time commitment averages out to an hour a day so you’ll have plenty of time for work, play and anything else you like to do. Throughout your trial membership we’ll have plenty of time to go over the details of joining as a full member including housing options.
