Live in Greece — Build Real Community
Imagine waking up to the scent of herbs drifting from the hills, walking to the village taverna for coffee, working from your sunlit terrace, spending time at the beach to unwind, hiking with incredible views or picnicking at a UNESCO World Heritage historical site—and then sharing dinner with neighbors who feel like family.
In Greek Village Cohousing, you can make this your everyday life.
We’re creating Greece’s first truly Community-Led cohousing / ecohousing villages—grounded in the Mediterranean way of living, with strong bonds between neighbors, shared resources, and a more connected way of life.
This is for people who are founders and want to co-create community from the beginning: a healthier Mediterranean / Blue-Zone-inspired lifestyle, year-round outdoor living in pristine nature with dramatic views, and a village designed for everyday connection and shared meals.
Support for your move overseas journey: We guide you through the practical, emotional, and cultural steps of relocating to Greece—so your transition is smoother, more joyful, and firmly rooted in community you helped build.
Pare Gerou (Evi) is a Greek-American who lived in cohousing and now helps people find their people and build beautiful lives in intentional communities in Greece, as the project’s founder/steward.
Our Two Community Pathways
Taygete Cohousing Village — In the Peloponnese
A mountain agrihood at the foot of the majestic Taygetos Mountains—pristine hiking trails, panoramic views, herbs and a vast food forest, real town life nearby, and stunning world-class beaches within driving distance, plus the Mediterranean diet (and yes, some of the best food in the world).
The village is a traditional cohousing village located adjacent to a wellness and lifestyle resort. It includes generous shared amenities designed for everyday connection and year-round outdoor living—such as a swimming pool, a full coworking suite, a library, yoga and weight rooms, and an indoor-outdoor kitchen and dining space for shared meals and celebrations (with additional shared spaces and gathering areas throughout the village). Walking distance to wellness and farm-to-table amenities. About 2.5 hours to an international airport.
Stage: Design completed. Excavation has begun. Community Founder Membership-building is underway, with construction steps moving forward in 2026–2027. We’re seeking a small seed group to help create the cohousing culture as the village grows. Prices, including shares of all commons, land, and home, are between €400k and €800k.
Community Culture Note: This is a multinational community where future neighbors co-create values, governance, and shared life using a sociocracy-based approach—culture-building from the start, for founders who want a strong foundation and support for moving abroad.
We also have emerging cohousing- and ecovillage-style opportunities for investors and community builders who want a simpler, lower-amenity path and a different focus.
Exploratory Retrofit Renovation Project in Crete & Peloponnesos
We are responding this year to strong interest in an exploratory group focused on already-built, multi house village-style properties near the sea in both the Peloponnese and Crete. These “complete village” properties could be purchased by a future resident founder-investor group and renovated into cohousing.
Greece has many gorgeous locations and village-like complexes to renovate—without developers—for those ready to invest in a renovation project and bring it to life.
Home purchase as a pathway to Greek residency, with all the benefits of being in the EU
For Taygete Cohousing Village, Non-EU buyers will qualify for Greece’s Golden Visa through an eligible home purchase. This key unlocks benefits of EU residency, with access to low-cost, world-class universities, strong and affordable healthcare, and the ability to bring your foreign business into the EU market.
Some newcomers may also qualify for special tax regimes (including a 7% pensioner regime, if eligible). Cost of living is often significantly lower in the Peloponnese than in the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Northern Europe.
