The Beach House Mommune – mom village life! 👩‍👩‍👧‍👦👩🏽‍🍼

Have you heard of a “mommune,” or a mom-centered, child-centered communal living space?

I am a single mom with a 3 bedroom 3 bath beach house located in the sand dunes of Oxnard shores a 5 min walk from the water. I have a young child and I’m going to school to become a licensed therapist and I work from home.

This is an extremely limited-time opportunity for the right families who vibe with the group dynamics. I practice gentle attachment-based parenting of a special needs kiddo and we are a sensory-friendly neurodivergent home. In this mommune housing village, we share cooking, cleaning and childcare whenever possible depending on our strengths and weaknesses. Through a democratic process of honest and compassionate communication, we can determine how we can all contribute to the household and helping to take care of the home and our kids. Sharing childcare would be great! A nanny share would come down to less than around $10 an hour or so if that’s something we want to organize. This opportunity is ideal for parents of young children but older kids are welcome if the dynamics work.

I have two bedrooms available on October 1st with a shared bathroom, option for a private bathroom for an additional fee.

The rooms are medium-large, and Room 1 has a private balcony with a privacy wall and high-top seating area with an umbrella. Standard closet, floor-to-ceiling balcony doors. It faces the ocean breeze and you can hear the waves during some high tides. The other room, Room 2, has a standard-size closet and both have large windows with lots of light. Both rooms are large enough to share with a child, and the downstairs is huge.

Room 1 is renting for $1600, Room 2 is $1200.
