About the house
We rent a beautiful 6 bedroom/2 bathroom craftsman style home built in 1906 in Harvard Heights. Our landlord (who lives in the house directly behind ours) has taken great care to maintain lots of original details which give the house its charm. The house has been featured in various film projects. We still get scouted for the occasional filming, but always get to decide if we want it or not (and get paid if we do!).
There are 5 bedrooms and 1 bathroom upstairs and 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom downstairs. While anyone is free to use either bathroom, generally people primarily use the bathroom on the same floor as their bedroom.
Our kitchen is fully supplied with pots/pans, dishes, utensils, appliances, etc. While we do share some pantry staples (condiments, baking supplies, butter, etc.), everyone has 1 shelf in the fridge/freezer and 1 shelf in the pantry to store their own food.
We have plenty of common space, including a living room with a smart tv. We have parking for 3 cars in the back, and can fit up to all 6 of us if we tandem park.
Shared bills (including internet, utilities, misc. house supplies, and a bi-monthly housekeeper for common areas) typically work out to about $90 per month.
About the rooms
Room 1 ($734/month, available November 1)
Spacious room with a decent closet. Shares a wall with the bathroom, so probably best for someone who isn’t super noise-sensitive. Bathroom is shared with 4 other people.
Room 2 ($580/month, available January 1)
Smaller room located downstairs. While other people will occasionally use the downstairs bathroom, it is only primarily used by the person living in this room.
About us
We have had women from all walks of life live in our home. Currently, ages range from early/mid twenties to thirties. We are generally pretty laid back while being respectful of each others boundaries. We all have pretty busy schedules, but we make time to share a meal together at least every month or two, and will hang out or chat whenever the opportunity arises.
About you
Our ideal housemate is self-aware, kind, and respectful. This might be a good entry into intentional community, as we are communally minded while maintaining our individual lives. However, if you have experience living with other people (and therefore know all the pros and cons) that is a big plus!
If you’re interested, please fill out this form, which includes photos of room 1 (room 2 photos to come later) and a house tour.
