High Mowing School is Seeking a Full Time Cleaner & Housekeeper High Mowing School is seeking a full-time Cleaner & Housekeeper for September 2020. This unique position calls for positive and hard-working candidates interested in contributing to a Waldorf school community. An experienced cleaner and housekeeper, the ideal candidate is thorough, enthusiastic, dynamic, and organized. S/he understands the fundamental value of the highest level of cleanliness. A professional cleaner by choice, s/he views the tasks associated with cleaning and housekeeping as essential to the health of the school and holds the position as being on par with teaching or office work. S/he seeks to fully integrate a team of dedicated faculty and administrative staff. S/he:
β’ Cleans HMS school buildings β bathrooms, common areas, dorms, etc – as per weekly/monthly schedule and rotation.
β’ Takes and radiates pride in impeccable cleanliness and tidiness of all spaces.
β’ Pays great attention to details without losing sight of overall needs.
β’ Thrives in working independently and as a member of a small maintenance team of 3 to 4 dynamic staff members with high standards.
β’ Enjoys thorough and repetitive work.
β’ Cares for (and cleans) tools and equipment as well as spaces.
β’ Seeks a community situation when s/he can live and work. Living on campus required.
β’ Understands the demands associated with working and living in a school (occasional weekends and evening duties; responding to occasional unexpected events). Requirements
β’ At least 5 years of cleaning and housekeeping experience in a boarding school, retreat center, or similar collective environment.
β’ At least 3 years of experience working in an environment with teenagers.
β’ Patient, positive, proud to model excellence in practical work. Compensation
β’ Medical & Dental Insurance
β’ Health Reimbursement account – HMS reimburses the second half of the health insurance plan deductible via a TASC account.
β’ Retirement – TIAA-CREF 403b account. Eligible after 90 days of employment
β’ Tuition Remission – 90% remission for students enrolled in K-12. β’ Vacation – five weeks (5) of which are paid vacation.
