We are searching for organized, energetic Food Preparation Interns to join our team. Interns are responsible for assisting with food preparation, serving and proper storing of ingredients and meals.
You should also help ensure that the kitchen and storage areas remain clean and sanitary at all times.
Lost Valley’s Internship is a 3 month immersive learning experience where participants have the opportunity to learn and work alongside some of the Pacific Northwest’s finest system thinkers. This education based opportunity offers front row seats in observing the process, procedure, and governance systems that have allowed our community to flourish for over 30 years.
To be successful as a Kitchen Intern, you should demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to multitask without sacrificing the quality in your work. Top-notch candidates will be able to perform well within a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Preparation of food (cutting, washing, etc) and maintaining a clean kitchen. Package and store food.
Skills & Experience:
- Prior kitchen experience in a similar position or capacity.
- Thorough knowledge of food handling and safety procedures.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
- Must be confident and humble, driven, efficient, have a willingness to learn, have a sense of humor and be able to ask questions as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Dress code adheres to health & safety regulations

Schedule of Hours
June 1st – August 24th (There is some flexibility around arrival date provided you are able to complete a full orientation and begin no later than June 13th.)
Typically, Monday to Friday, twenty (18-20) hours per week
