Who we are:

The Farm School is located in Summertown TN on the Farm, an intentional community founded in 1971. The Farm School has been in continuous operation for 50 years.

The Farm School’s mission is to provide education, inspiration, and nurturing to students to help them develop the courage, skills, and self-confidence needed to create the life of their dreams and add to the good in the world.

We value authentic leaders who are: trustworthy, self-reflective, and have a growth mindset not only for students and staff but for themselves as well.

We strive for an 8/1, student/teacher ratio, in order to enable teachers to meet student academic needs and provide emotional support within our capabilities.

We are seeking someone who:

-Administrator/Coordinator experienced in teaching, classroom management, staff development, and knowledge of state standards for K-12th grades.

-Ability to train, support, and inspire teachers to meet educational goals while creating a safe, fun learning environment.

-Ensure state guidelines are met regarding attendance, health & safety and fire marshall requirements.

-Organize and implement student assessments. Review all assessments, send them to parents.

-Plan and execute school year activities such as Outdoor Week, Parent/Teacher Conferences, and fundraisers.

-Coordinating PTA and informing PTA about needed volunteers for the school day.

-Assist staff with technology concerns and needs.

-Be willing to work nights and weekends, when needed, for meetings, fundraisers, and facility maintenance.

-Work collaboratively as part of a Leadership Team that practices authenticity, respect, and kindness in all interactions, especially while navigating difficult situations and conversations with parents, students, and staff.

Required Experience:

-Bachelor’s degree minimum, Master’s degree preferred

-3+ years of teaching/training experience

-3+ years of management experience

-Google Suites proficient

-Technology literate

-Clear and concise communication skills

-Time management skills

-Planning and implementing capabilities

Pay & Benefits:

-$28,000- 32,000/ year, depending on experience.

-5 weeks of paid school vacation, August-May.

-Discounted student tuition

Additional Information:

-Recommended start date March 2022.

-Teacher’s start date: July 2022.

-The First day of school is August 10, 2022.

-Primary schedule is 8:00 am – 4:00 pm Monday through Friday.

-Background check required.

-Covid vaccination required.
