Rent: * We prioritize finding the right person who aligns with our values of mutual support and community over profit. If this is out of your price range, please still reach out. that said, we do need to pay the mortgage, so rent will be roughly in the posted range* (IE we can’t afford to rent for $600 a month, but we are open to negotiating a lower price within reason).
Mother-in-Law unit: $1,800/month
Bedroom: $900/month
Move-in: ideally, January 1st, but also flexible. Our priority is to find someone who will mesh best with our community and we understand that may take time to find.

Who We Are:
We’re the Trans Labyrinth—a diverse intentional community of 4 adults (Jill— she/her, queer, cis, white, Eli— they/them, non-binary, white, Al— they/them, non-binary, biracial/black, Cayce— they/them, nonbinary, white), 3 kids (we use they/them with them until they can communicate their gender preferences to us), and 2 dogs. We value mutual aid, collective care, and shared joy. We gather for weekly Thursday dinners, support each other with childcare, and work to build a safe, inclusive, and loving home.
This could be a great fit for a single parent looking for community support—we’d love to share the work of caregiving with you.
Who You Are:
- Seeking community, not just a room—excited to share life, care, and connection
- Comfortable with the joyful chaos of toddlers and dogs (noise, play, barking, messes)
- Committed to participating in weekly house dinners and communal activities
- Open to mutual support, including shared childcare and household responsibilities
- Ideally have prior experience with communal/intentional living—or a genuine desire to learn
- Aligned with values of collective care, open communication, and accountability
This is not just a rental—it’s an opportunity to join a community. If this resonates, we’d love to hear from you! Tell us a little about who you are and what you’re hoping for in a home.
Other details:
Covid: all housemates are vaxxed and boosted (unless they are under age of being able to be vaxxed). All applicants must also be vaxxed, boosted, and have had TDAP and MMR vaccine within within last 10 years (newborn in home).
That said, we are not a great fit for folks who are immunocompromised. We have three babies who are all too young to wear masks and several adults that work in higher exposure environments (health care, education, retail).
Drug/alcohol use: We drink occasionally. We also occasionally throw larger parties 2-4 times a year with alcohol offered in common spaces. No tobacco use on the property.
Wheelchair accessibility: The house has 10+ stairs to enter. Sadly, it is not ADA accessible.
Amount of light: all bedrooms have decent light. One room is south facing with peek-a-boo view of Mt. Rainier.
Scents: We are low-scent, but not scent free.
Utilities: Generally shared equally and not included in rent price, but open to discussion. The house has solar panels, resulting in generally low electricity bills.
Any labor beyond standard household labor: we do a weekly house dinner. The housemate that cooks rotates weekly.
Pets: two dogs already live in the house. One housemate has cat allergy, so no cats in main house (open to discussion in MIL unit). Two housemates have severe fear of snakes, so absolutely no snakes. Other pets considered on case-by-case basis. Animals must be good with kids and guests. Fenced yard.
Noise level: noisy. All the time. We have two toddlers and a baby. Babies are loud and playful all day long… as they should be in their own home! MIL unit is very quiet.
