Marketing Manager

The Foundation for Intentional Community (FIC) is seeking a Marketing Manager to work closely with our Communications Director to market all of the FIC’s programs and products. The position involves on-going management and expansion of digital marketing for our online courses, events, books, and ads, as well as the broader promotion of the FIC and intentional communities. The ideal candidate has extensive branding, advertising, copywriting, and design experience, with data-driven strategies and a proven track record of success. They must be familiar with working in collaborative teams, managing multiple priorities, and staying on track with set goals.

Position Details

Commitment: 80 hours/month, first month trial period

Compensation: $20/hr and increasing based on performance, contracted

Location: Remote position, candidates must be in a time zone compatible with attending meetings during business hours in North American time zones


Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Managing all marketing efforts for FIC programs and products, in close collaboration with Communications Director and other team members
  • Conducting on-going market research
  • Developing marketing strategies and campaigns
  • Tracking Google Analytics and reporting on marketing effectiveness
  • Planning marketing/content calendar, in collaboration with staff
  • Managing website marketing: such as pop-ups, opt-ins, banners, etc.
  • Managing MailChimp email marketing campaigns
  • Managing Google Ads and site SEO
  • Managing Facebook / YouTube Ads, in collaboration with Social Media Manager
  • Graphic design work for organizational needs, in accordance with Brand Style Guide (Canva)
  • Writing copy for event pages and campaigns, consistent with the FIC’s brand voice
  • Sourcing and gaining permissions for photos with Community Engagement Assistant
  • Ensuring UTM codes used consistently throughout channels
  • Following and improving upon Brand Style Guide
  • Supervise interns, volunteers and other staff as needed

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Passion for intentional communities, ideally lives in or is starting a community
  • 3+ years of experience in marketing, with proven track record of success
  • Great with technology, including experience with Zoom, WordPress, Canva, Slack, MailChimp, Google Analytics, Facebook Ads, and Google Docs or similar softwares
  • Has reliable internet connection and decent laptop/PC
  • Strong copywriting skills and visual aesthetic 
  • Strategic thinker who can make data informed decisions
  • Ability to work in highly collaborative remote teams
  • Well organized and timely communicator
  • Website design and/or video editing experience is a plus
