UX Designer & Coach

We are seeking dedicated volunteers to collaborate with us in enhancing the website’s usability, navigation, and overall user experience. As a UX volunteer, you’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the way our community interacts with our online space.

  • Conduct usability testing to identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide valuable insights on user interface design and accessibility.
  • Collaborate with our team to implement UX enhancements.
  • Help create a seamless and enjoyable experience for our community members.
  • Coach & empower FIC staff to implement UX features in the future.

WordPress Support

Do you have experience with CRMs and APIs? The knowledge to integrate different platforms? We currently have eCommerce on one platform, eLearning in another one, and also a forum space. We are looking for someone to help keep track of the engagement in a central low cost CRM database.

If you have experience with WordPress Front End design, that’s a plus! We’re searching for someone interested in learning and using the new WordPress Block Themes and configuring a design that can be edited by non-technical users.

Other types of support: User database cleanup and deletion, general files cleanup of old files from the WP Media library.

Web Design & SEO Support

Using WordPress as our web platform, we are seeking someone to work with the FIC staff to improve the design of our webpages and improve its SEO.

Virtual Learning Support

Work alongside our Programs Director to improve our virtual learning space. 

Depending on your interest, you may support on the following ways:

  • Research online learning trends and the latest resources for the IC movement
  • Find and edit images from intentional communities to use for our promotions
  • Setup online educational offerings on the back end 
  • Host educational offerings via Zoom
  • Adding online offerings to Member Library
  • Setting up popular workshops/webinars for rent/purchase on Vimeo

Podcast & Video Editing

Help us convert our 25+ episodes of Inside Community podcast into YouTube videos. Familiarity with video editing software and creating YouTube content is required.

Marketing & Graphic Design

Are you a budding graphic designer or a professional designer looking to support a worthy cause? Join our marketing and communications team by offering new graphics to our messaging in 2024. 

If your area of interest is particularly in social media marketing, help us by creating templates for our promotions, including reels, upcoming courses and events, and bookstore sales. 

Ebook Designer

Following our brand and style guide, we want to provide more free, short-form ebooks with content that helps people on their community journey. Design experience and familiarity with design platforms like Canva are necessary.

Board Member

Serving on the Board of Directors for the Foundation for Intentional Community (FIC) is a 3 year term with 6-8 hours of volunteer time expected per month. We are especially seeking individuals of diverse backgrounds with skillsets in business, legal and financial planning, as well as experience with and commitment to the movement of intentional communities.
