Online Sales Manager

Job Description

The Foundation for Intentional Community (FIC) is seeking an experienced online sales manager to join the team. This is an opportunity to serve the intentional communities movement and directly help to create a more cooperative, just, and regenerative world.

As Sales Manager you will manage and run the sales of our online bookstore and online advertisements. In addition to maintaining sales and addressing customer needs, you will work closely with our Co-Directors and department heads to develop and implement a strategy for increasing product visibility, customer reach, and revenue.

Job Qualifications

Commitment: 40 hours/month

Compensation: $20/hr

Type of employment: Independent Contract

Location: Remote position. Candidates must be in a time zone compatible with attending meetings during business hours in North American time zones.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Develop sales strategy for increasing product visibility, customer reach, and revenue
  • Collaborate with authors and publishers for placement of products in online store
  • Compile and report sales data to entire team
  • Periodically spearhead the development of in-house book publications
  • Improve and maintain SEO for products and sales pages
  • Manage and fulfill all orders through WooCommerce on WordPress
  • Assist advertisers and sponsors  with placement of classified and banner  ads
  • Work closely with development and programs teams to assist with donation transactions and event registrations
  • Issue quarterly payouts to authors and publishers
  • Issue monthly payouts to sales affiliates
  • Compile and report Google Analytics data to advertisers 

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in eCommerce sales 
  • Experience or familiarity of online sales in non-profit settings
  • Strong product development skills
  • Experience or familiarity with intentional communities and adjacent topics
  • Experience in WordPress, WooCommerce plugin, Advanced Ads plugin, Google Analytics, SEO
  • Metorik, Kindle Direct Publishing, IngramSpark, Monday, Zoom, Slack, Google Docs
  • Commitment to the work of justice, equity, diversity and inclusion

  • Ability to work in highly collaborative remote teams
