SUMMARY:Intentional Communities Panel: Sharing Resources
DESCRIPTION:In the process of sharing a house you share much more than just the roof over your head. You share a space that shapes you. What do you offer and what do you receive? How do you build a home that you’re proud to belong to? Whether it’s a commune and their CSA or a loft with equitable rent\, each community shapes their particular financial structure and communal resource contributions to fit their values. \nJoin us Thursday\, February 7 at HACIENDA Studio (Bushwick\, Brooklyn) for a panelist discussion of the rewards and challenges of shared resources in intentional communities. Founders\, community members\, and researchers will discuss their history and experiences on questions about sharing. What do communities share universally? What resources aren’t shared? And how do they do it? Come with questions\, enter the raffle\, and stick around for a BYOB post-panel social hour. \nSTEP 1: Register to receive the address at https://goo.gl/forms/K8BinaxKOFmxzs782 \nSTEP 2: Send your suggested $18 donation to andrea@wearehacienda.com on PayPal. All proceeds will benefit the Coalition for the Homeless! \nDoors Open: 7:30pm\nCommunity Panel and Q&A: 8:00pm – 9:45pm\nRaffle drawing: 10pm\nSocial until 11:00pm \nWhy PayPal?\nAfter trying a whole bunch of ticketing websites\, we realized we don’t need one for this event. If you “send to a friend” on PayPal\, we avoid transaction fees for the guests and the hosts\, meaning more money for the Coalition for the Homeless. Send your PayPal donation to andrea@wearehacienda.com\, or use this link: \nhttps://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_donations&business=82MA2NT529MQ6&item_name=Donate+to+the+Coalition+for+the+Homeless&currency_code=USD&source=url \nOther notes:\nThe event is BYOB. There will be snacks and water offered free of charge. \nThe address will be sent to you after you register (at least 2 days before the event). Hacienda Villa is a private residence so for the safety and comfort of the house members\, the address is not disclosed publicly. \nDonations will be processed through PayPal. Donations are non-refundable. \nYou must register through the Google form to receive the address. \nAlways wait for enthusiastic consent before touching/hugging. Photography is allowed – always ask consent for photos.
