But\, how do we know when we’re ready? Understanding the values of the community and the agreements you’ve made are paramount in making this critical decision for your community.  \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nLooking at the capacity of your community and their willingness to support families will be an important factor to consider when planning for children in community. What is the expectation around co-holding the needs of families and children? How do children fit into community needs and goals? Are there cultural nuances to consider as well? How about welcoming children with higher support needs? For the safety and security of both the families and the community as a whole\, it’s necessary to answer these questions and lay the groundwork for introducing children to the community. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nJoin us for this 2-hour workshop to learn how to navigate the conversations that are needed when planning for children in community to ensure the happiness and comfort of everyone involved. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nIn this workshop\, you’ll:\n\n\n\n\nexplore issues of safety\, comfort and addressing harm\n\n\n\ngain a clear picture of the intersectionality of cultural nuances\, community values and agreements\n\n\n\nlearn how to be welcoming of children with higher support needs\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout your presenter\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJanne Campbell\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nJanne is passionate about creating a world that works for all\, including children. As an unschooling mother of two\, devoted student of conscious parenting and nonviolent communication\, she serves the Great Turning by sharing what she knows about raising children in joy\, respect and connection. She is particularly drawn to supporting inquiry around the delicate ecosystem of family and children within the context of intentional community. When she isn’t making snacks and holding space for big feelings\, she’s fermenting\, baking\, cobbing\, foraging\, growing or skinning something and trying to start a (un)school.
