In this one-hour webinar\, Laird will unpack the dynamics and choices at play when facilitating messy conversations. \n \nRather than just talking about the theory\, we’ll roll up our sleeves and engage with what we know is a complex topic that most communities struggle with: “What’s expected of members in the way of non-monetary contributions to the maintenance and well-being of the community?” \n \nJoin us for the fun and illuminating Facilitating Conversations Where You Expect Disagreement webinar for an introduction on how to facilitate a complex topic\, as well as get a taste for our upcoming 5-week course\, Facilitation in Community. \n \nIn this webinar\, you’ll learn about:\n\nHow to understand better the elements of member participation\nThe power of breaking complicated topics into digestible chunks\nHow to recognize and integrate the energetic aspects of a topic with the concepts\, principles\, and values\nKnowledge of the social skills needed to address issues well and help community thrive\n\n\nAbout your presenter\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLaird Schaub\n \nLaird’s specialty is up-tempo inclusive meetings that engage the full range of human input\, teaching groups to work creatively with conflict and diversity—all the while being ruthless about capturing as much product as possible. He lived for four decades at Sandhill Farm\, an income-sharing rural community that he helped found.Laird also helped found the Foundation for Intentional Community\, where he served as the main administrator for 28 years. In 1987\, he created a self-insurance fund for healthcare among income-sharing communities called PEACH (Preservation of Equity Accessible for Community Health) that he ran for 22 years. In addition to his expertise in community living\, he’s parlayed his passion for good process into a consulting business focused on cooperative group dynamics\, styled CANBRIDGE (Consensus And Network Building for Resolving Impasse and Developing Group Effectiveness)\, since 1987. \n \nRead his blog Laird’s Commentary on Community and Consensus. \n \n\n\n\nLocation\n \nYou’ll get the Zoom link after you register in your confirmation email.
