Join trainer Genny Carraro to discover the power of inclusive decision-making in this introduction to Sociocracy workshop.

About the event

In a world where power dynamics and conflicts are prevalent, it’s important to find methods that allow for cooperation and creativity in decision making. Developed by Gerard Endenburg in the Netherlands, Sociocracy is an organizational model based on equivalence, efficiency, and transparency. With decisions made through consent and feedback loops, everyone feels involved and supported in the process.

This playful two-hour workshop will introduce you to Sociocracy – providing basic knowledge about its principles so you can inspire others within your group or organization to make decisions cooperatively.

During this workshop, you will:

  • understand how to adapt the Sociocracy framework to the specific needs of your group or organization.
  • learn how to lead efficient meetings
  • learn to embrace errors as opportunities for growth.
  • learn to express personal opinions and welcome other voices

About your presenter

Genny Carraro, introduction to sociocracy instructor

Genny Carraro

Genny is a trainer, counsellor, consultant, facilitator and social activist born in Italy. She works with communities, organizations and individuals to bring clarity, ease and efficiency, with a dose of energy, straight-talk and humor.

At an early age, Genny lost her sight, and this life-changing event taught her lessons that shape who she is and how she works. She believes that collaboration is the key to survival and growth, and that healthy and trusting relationships are the foundation of our life experience. She is strongly attuned to subtle shifts in energy, to what is left unsaid and what needs to be expressed for a group to move forward. These are gifts that she brings to her facilitation.

Genny has worked on several educational projects to develop methodologies and approaches to transmit sustainability concepts. She managed and coordinated the European Ecovillage Network, co-founded ECOLISE, a European network for locally lead climate change and sustainability initiatives, co-founded and coordinated the Italian Processwork school, and has been a part of the creating of CLIPS Europe and CLIPS Italia, a community incubator program for sustainable initiatives. Genny lives in and coordinates an intentional community where they experiment with sustainability from an eco-social point of view.
