Description

Do you want to enjoy how your community runs? Are you tired of living with the legacy of power-over and wonder how shared power would work? What are the tools that help us listen to each other as equals?

In this 3-session class, Sociocracy for All’s Jerry Koch-Gonzalez, your instructor, will guide you through the core elements of sociocracy: consent decision-making process, the organizational structure of linked working groups (also known as “circles”), and continuous evolutions through feedback.

In this classes you’ll learn about:

  • 3 steps of consent decision-making
  • dealing with objections
  • generating proposals from scratch
  • the selection of members to leadership roles
  • meeting format and agenda design
  • organizing the community into connected working teams
  • boards and bylaws and community agreements
  • giving and receiving the gift of feedback
  • getting started introducing and implementing sociocracy

There will be practice, role plays and plenty of room for questions and further exploration. These classes are useful for all, even if you are not familiar with sociocracy or planning to adopt sociocracy in your community. We will build a cooperative community for ourselves. Come and join the experience!

These classes are suitable for people looking to visit or join a community, people looking to start/build a community, and people already living in community.
