Description

As humans, people have feelings, and some of the time they are triggered by the issues that groups grapple with. The most challenging aspect of emotional dynamics is conflict—when interpersonal tensions emerge in the group. We’ll discuss why this is inevitable, and how to prepare for it.

Distilled from more than three decades of working as a professional facilitator and trainer for cooperative groups, your instructor, Laird Schaub, will cover what you need to know to move through conflict with as much grace as possible.

In this class you’ll learn about:

  • why conflict is inevitable and how to deal with it
  • working with feelings
  • emotions and how they relate to conflict
  • distress and distortion

This class is suitable for people new to the world of intentional communities, people looking to visit or join a community, people looking to start/build a community, and people already living in community.
