About the Virtual Tour Event
About
The Virtual Tour of Intentional Communities event has featured all kinds of communities from around the world — ecovillage, cohousing, spiritual communities, etc. and at all stages of development — new, forming, and established. It’s an opportunity to share about the communities that make up our network and give your community a platform to share about your work and opportunities.
The event receives a viewing of 200-300 registrants per event and is live streamed on social media.
We host three communities per event. Each have 10mins to present followed by Q&A and general discussion. Recordings of past events are available on our YouTube channel. The event takes place on the 1st Thursday of each month from 2-3:30pm Eastern Time. Presenters are asked to arrive 10mins early and stay for the duration of the event.
Presentation Advice
We encourage you to have photos or/and video to accompany your presentation. You can share your screen to show the media using Google Slides, PowerPoint Presentation, or any other presentation software.
It’s good to cover the following points in your presentation:
- Introduce yourself and why you joined your community
- Brief overview of your community’s history and future goals
- Some key features of your community that make it unique
- The membership process for joining your community
Keep it brief! You will have ~10mins to present (with a minute or two of wiggle room). Followed by 5 mins for answering audience questions.
