Community agreements (guidelines or rules), set the tone for the day-to-day life of a community. In this lecture, we’ll look at how to create and use agreements to support the connection we crave.
About the event
Every community has agreements. Some are explicit, determined by consent or consensus. Others are implicit, employed by habit and momentum. Some groups call them Community Agreements. Others use words like Guidelines, Expectations, Rights and Responsibilities, or Rules. Whatever we call them, the way that we create them and, even moreso, the ways that we hold and use them will have a huge impact on how we live together..
This lecture will cover the various ways we can use agreements and the likely outcome of each, as well as some tips about how to create better agreements and which topics they should cover.
In this session, you’ll learn about:
- What agreements can do for a community, and what they can’t.
- How agreements can go wrong
- How to create agreements that will serve your community well
