Lightning in a Bottle, the annual arts, music, and yoga festival in Southern California, announced its 2016 theme and workshop leaders. According to Grateful Web, “The Village’s 2016 theme, Tree of Life, will focus on re-integrating humanity into right relationship with our ecosystem…. The Village will give attendees a unique opportunity to learn by doing, develop hands on skills and discover what it takes to create and sustain a living Village together as a community.”

Workshop topics include permaculture, natural medicine, sacred music, and more. Mark Lakeman, founder of the Village Building Convergence in Portland, OR, will participate in a panel discussion on building resilient communities. Erik Ohlsen of Permaculture Artisans, and Esperide Ananas, of the Italian eco-community Damanhur, will also offer workshops.

The event takes place on Memorial Day Weekend (May 25 – 30) in Bradley, CA. In addition to sustainability workshops, it includes performances by musical acts such as Grimes and Four Tet, hands-on cooking lessons, yoga classes, and more.

Fox News local affiliate in St.Louis, MO had this spot on their evening news this week. See the Video I thought it was a very positive portrayal and for the most part accurate (of course I am biased since I live at DR).
