UN Report says Organic Farming is Key

In a new report, with the dramatic title, ‘Wake up Before it’s too Late’, “the United Nations is once against sounding the alarm about the urgent need to return to (and develop) a more sustainable, natural and organic system.”

Recommendations of the report include smaller scale farms, with greater diversity of crops grown, without a reliance on GMO species where seeds cannot be saved, as well as chemical fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides. In addition to the environmental, economic, and health benefits of decentralizing food production, the report cites food security as of key importance.

Here you can read the Trade and Environmental Review report, and here is an article covering it: http://www.technologywater.com/post/69995394390/un-report-says-small-scale-organic-farming-only

The arts of cooperative living—supported tirelessly by the cash-strapped FIC, and worthy now more than ever of financial support—will be as essential as technical skills if our species is to survive on this planet or any other.
