It Takes a Village

Giving Tuesday Gala

[formidable id=39]

Join us for an evening of music, connection, and community!

It takes a village to raise a child.

It takes a community to make a village.

It takes communitarians to create a community.

Now more than ever we need strong intentional communities to overcome the challenges facing our world so that future generations can thrive. We need bold communitarians.

You are a bold communitarian. Your support of our foundation over the past year — through joining FIC events, taking online courses, downloading resources, donating, and sharing about intentional communities — has strengthened our movement immensely.

Now let’s come together for a night of celebration!

Join us on November 30 for FIC’s It Takes a Village Giving Tuesday Gala for an evening of entertainment and quality time with our team and fellow communitarians. In addition to two great musical performances, you’ll be the first to hear about the programs we’re rolling out next year and new ways you can support the movement.

Event Schedule:

7-7:30pm Eastern
Live performance by Grace Statwick and meet fellow communitarians

7:30-8:15pm Eastern
Overview of FIC’s impact in 2021 and sneak peek at exciting new 2022 offerings

8:15-8:30pm Eastern
Raffle drawing and live performance by Barbra McAfee

Entertainment by…

Grace Statwick

Classically trained in piano, violin, and voice, Grace first started playing the ukulele in Hawai’i in 2009 and has been traveling with one ever since. Her most recent solo work is called Directions for Future Lovers.

Through she has had varied musical partnerships – everything from jazz to electronica – her bittersweet love songs are organic, acoustic, intimate, and unexpectedly emotional. She draws from Korean pansori (classical opera) and gakseori (beggar clown) traditional, big band jazz standards, country, pop, and traditional folk music of the British Isles.

Grace has been a resident at Dancing Rabbit Ecovillage for over a year.

Barbara McAfee

Barbara is a master voice coach, author, keynote speaker, and singer/songwriter who merges lessons from 12 years in organization development with the transformative power of sound.

Her book, Full Voice, is based on her 25+ years as a voice coach, supporting people from many professions to find their voice, whatever that means to them.

Barbara has produced eight CDs of mostly original music and founded the Morning Star Singers, a volunteer hospice choir in the Twin Cities.

She lives just up the street from the wild and scenic St. Croix River in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin.
