What we do

The Miccosukee Land Cooperative (MLC) is a community of over 140 households on 344 acres east of Tallahassee, Florida, and OPEN to new members when a home or land becomes available. We live in the forest but are close to the city, for example, 20 minutes from hospitals, restaurants, hardware stores, box stores, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, FSU and FAMU, and the state’s government, and we welcome diversity.
Co-op members privately own their own homesteads, typically 1 or 2 acres. Over 90 acres are preserved in their natural state as common land, owned collectively and enjoyed by the entire membership. Paths and boardwalks connect us to each other and to our wildlife sanctuary. We also have a Community Center (w/ a full kitchen and stage) for gatherings and an option to join our Olympic-size swimming pool.
For interested folks, we have a walking tour to see the land and a waiting list ($45/yr, includes our bi-monthly newsletter) if you want to buy a house that becomes available. Notably, folks on the waiting list can purchase homes before they are listed publicly, after the other first right of refusals.
MLC members are drawn together by a common desire to live in a wooded area close to town where the land and environment are respected and interaction between neighbors is a sought-after experience. All activities (other than paying the low HOA fee) are purely voluntary, allowing each person to choose the level of sharing and socializing. Some members have reached retirement age, and some adults who grew up here live in the community. Despite our independent lives, we make time to celebrate our milestones and achievements and to support one another in times of sickness or tragedy. We continually try to find more time to work, eat, talk, and sing together. We walk separate paths but we always give thanks for our land and precious community.

Worktrade Opportunities on Big Island Hawaii

We are continuing our work-trade program at Bridge Hawaii for the right people on this beautiful 86-acre land located along the Hāmākua Coast. Ideally, we want to host those individuals who can help with the garden and who can support with build projects for up to a 3 month stay. This work-trade would include lodging, food staples, community kitchen, running hot water showers, off-grid electricity, and laundry. There is access to high speed wi-fi. We often have a car that can be reserved. We also have full bar signal strength with Verizon cellphone service. We have about 2 acres of permaculture garden that needs to be cared for including; weeding, planting, picking up mulch, some tree trimming, ect. We are currently in a building stage on the land. We have a few current grant projects we are working on and some build projects that are underway. We are an intentional community with about 8 permanent residents. There are rescue dairy cows, mini cows, mini donkeys, horses, a donkey, cats, dogs, and active bee hives. We are a drug and alcohol “free” space. A glass of wine or beer with dinner is fine, but absolutely no day drinking or parties. We have a meditation temple and many waterfall pools that are wonderful for swimming. Close to some of the nicest beaches on island. We have snorkeling gear and a kayak. Since this is an animal sanctuary, we limit the consumption of meat on the land. Fish, eggs, honey, and dairy are fine. Let me know if you’re interested by sending an email or text for our application. Maomi (801) 623-0738 ma***@*****************ii.com

The front porch and 1st floor features a zero-step entrance, wide interior solid wood doors, with a bedroom, bath and balcony on the main floor.  The 2nd floor features 2 bedrooms, the master with access to the 2nd floor balcony, a bath with a jetted tub and shower, a window-lit bonus area, and a new washer and dryer.  Custom wood millwork throughout the home, combined with the solid wood doors, add both a unifying coziness and class to the home.  There is also framed-out, unfinished space that could be converted to expand the unit into a 7 bedroom, 4 bath home. The walkout basement floor has a private entrance, and is framed out for being a 1 bedroom, 1 bath, “mother-in-law” apartment with a living and dining room, with a total of 7 windows.  The third floor is framed out for 3 bedrooms, 1 bath, with a foyer and 2nd master bedroom with vaulted ceilings.  Architectural drawings for this build out are available to interested buyers.   The townhome is in the friendly East Lake Commons Co-Housing Community. Details on our community are at EastLakeCommons.orgPrice: $435,000 Please note that I do not wish to sell to brokers or investment firms; I am only interested in selling to people who intend to live in the house and join the community. Interested parties should take a tour of East Lake Commons, should attend a community potluck or event, and read the Community Covenants, Bylaws, and Book of Commons before the property closing. Community participation helps keep our Community vibrant! The unfinished square footage may qualify for a “203K” mortgage, allowing licensed contractors to finish the framed-out space. Questions? True North CoHousing Community Seeking Founders

True North is a small, women-centered intentional community where self-directed, purposeful women share space, resources, and genuine commitment to each other’s wellbeing. We are building something that is greater than the sum of its parts — a life that is richer, more secure, and more meaningful because we are living it together. Our Vision A community where no one falls through the cracks. Where aging is something we navigate together rather than alone. Where the people around you notice when you’re struggling, celebrate when you’re thriving, and show up — not because they have to, but because that’s simply who we are to each other. We are building this as a tiny house village — a model we chose deliberately. Many intentional communities require crazy buy-in sums, putting them out of reach for most women navigating life on a single income. We believe that financial accessibility isn’t a compromise — it’s a value. Your home will be yours: as simple or as appointed as fits your life and circumstances, sized right for the life you are living now and the one you are building toward. We live lightly on the land and invest heavily in the relationships that make life worth living. We’re currently forming our founding group — the women who will help shape what this community becomes, where it lands, and how it lives. Not ready to be a founder but feel this in your gut? We want to hear from you too. There’s a place for you here at whatever stage feels right. https://www.truenorthcommunity.info/ jh*******@****on.me

Still Point House Manager

Still Point House Manager (Northampton) Windhorse Integrative Mental Health, Inc Are you interested in working where you live? Do you want to make a difference in the lives of others? Do you have experience with running a household, and do you appreciate community-based environments? Windhorse is seeking a manager of a hosted home environment for individuals working with extreme mind states who are arriving to our step-down program. When a Windhorse client first arrives, they are received at our Still Point house, an established home environment where they can land, orient, and meet their clinical team. Each client remains at our Still Point house for two to twelve weeks, at which point they then move to an apartment, which they share with a housemate. Windhorse is seeking a Still Point Manager who will live ongoingly in a house in Northampton and help with these transitions as well as other uses for the house. This individual should be skilled at running an uplifted home (including typical home cleaning and maintenance), cooking, and shopping for the home. They also need to be emotionally regulated, welcoming, compassionate, organized, and patient. While the Still Point Manager has extensive clinical support, the job itself is not clinical. In addition, the Still Point Manager is anticipated to hold outside employment and may do so for up to 20 hours per week. During periods of vacancy when there is no client in residence, the Still Point Manager may also be asked to host guests in the home, either other housemates when they are on respite from their households, or friends and family members from the Windhorse community. In addition, during vacancy periods the Still Point Manager is responsible for providing short periods of respite coverage during housemate time off. This may involve staying with the client in their apartment while the housemate is away (typically for 3 nights) or hosting the client at the Still Point ho
