What we do

Who, How, What to Grow, and Eat in the Anthropocene ?
We’re Looking for a few good friends to grow food for friends we haven’t met yet.
Autumn into Winter is a very busy time prepping plants for transplanting , planting in hoop hoses and maintenance on equipment in barn w woodstove. Spring bud out is February here in zone 7. That prep decides months and years of the productivity of Plants and Animals
Can you join us and learn what we need to do to keep the plants, trees and animals healthy so we can share clean, nutritious foods? Producing food is as much about kitchen processing , preserving and even marketing.
Community is not about You. It’s not about Us either. Can we share in building the infrastructure, shelter and sustenance we all need ? Now you can go buy it. You can spend the day earning so you can spend it living alone with take out food . Has the nuclear family experiment destroyed millions of years of cooperation and service? Is The Milk of Human Kindness still growing in our Hearts?
You may be living in the first world now but that can change any time without your permission. Here, We are using our first world privilege to prepare for third world future resources.
Our priority is improving infrastructure, permaculture, waterworks and bracing for impact. We have all seen a few good disasters. Can we focus on helping each other as well as our greater community?
Some have come here who ‘like the idea’ of homesteading. It takes more then a mental curiosity. Now it may not be necessary to garden as long as the gas station has plastic meals. When you grow your own food you realize how cheep ( and toxic) gov. subsided food is. It takes 6-8 months to grow a nice head of celery worth $2-3. Here, you can harvest the outer stalks and keep growing it all year with hoop houses, plus it’s full of flavor and medicine. Good food is good for mental and body Health .
We are an Established farm, debt free with many buildings, much infrastructure in place, more to do. Lots of equipment, permaculture plantings, goat dairy, whey eating pigs, rabbits , bees. paying farm guests, solar electricity to build out, water guaranteed with many different irrigation systems and areas. The Farm is Private, not too remote with a large diverse acreage.
We Prepare farm products for our Pantry, for market, and farm guests. We fish, hunt, and forage as well.
We fight the laws thermodynamics, Entropy! Our constant care keeps the parade of decay, mold, gravity at bay.
Sorry, No sit down 9-5 jobs available. We ask for your full participation We can cover your costs as we all help to profit in the market.
Outside work not dependable or desirable.
No monies accepted, no tenancy w/o trial period and contract.
Not looking for slave labor but great Minds and Hearts with grateful compassion for our efforts.
Not a shot gun marriage, this may or may not be your forever home so many are stuck in place waiting for. Maybe we’re a place to learn, share and network with.
Please come with some savings until your efforts fruit.
We provide elec, sweet well water, many buildings , wood and wood stoves, kitchen, bath house, good driveway, private gate, food staples, produce, wood and propane heat, ver ison phone, tools, materials, Organic milk! Cheese ! Meat ! Eggs!
There is Farm equip-enough to never have to do ‘hard’ labor or heavy lifting.
What we ask of You:: Give a Damn, have references, full disclosure, Communicate, don’t Evaporate. You know more about us than we of you. Tell us about yourself. Open up a dialogue. Keep it going.
Communication makes Community!
Sorry, no buy ins, no lots for sale
Please Have a Self Care, spiritual practice.
Sorry no minors at this time. A car is handy. Plan on staying on Farm. We call this 3Dimentional Non Fiction. We are mindful not distracted w traumadrama.
Communities need independent food production. Most farms are run w grants , subsidies and estate beneficiaries. Maybe not long lasting. Maybe just a job. Many are accustomed to the job/ leisure dichotomy. Like 2 personalities .
Living and creating happen here all day. Yes, We stop and smell the Roses, and prune, mulch, manure and irrigate them and process fruit too. Permaculture is Permanent Care. This is Slow Food. There are peak windows in the year to plan, plant, harvest & think ahead for the Fruits of our labor…..Bigger then the 2dimentional fiction world of screens
2024 has been the hottest year ever recorded- 1.65’. We have been lucky compared to others. Talk to your local Farmers Markets to see how they managed this year.
Can you join in an ongoing Project ?
W are not doomers. We are Do-Mores
Thanks for your interest

How to join

Based on ability to think past their own lil story. Attitude trumps ability, skills. If you’re not having fun, time to go find some that suits you. Many details to learn. We are not control freeks, there are reasons, priorities, plans in place.
Stay and help a while before your own project, build or experiment.
A practice in non attachment and impermanence is recommended
washing dishes that are not yours is a good sign of Evolutionary Progress.
When you walk into the kitchen : do you cut up an onion, sweep, clear the sink? Or do you sit?
Come work beside us.
We care for our farm everyday. The Weather guides us not the clock or days of the week.
A Day off?
What’s that?
It means someone else is helping more so you can have leisure. That is something that doesn’t come right away.

Do you feel called to help co-create a small, newly forming eco-spiritual community?

Old structures are crumbling. New ways of living are calling. We are answering that call. Wild Grace is an eco-spiritual community located in the Sierra foothills 30 minutes from Grass Valley, California. We recently completed new homes for those who feel called to our vision. Currently there are four of us living on this sacred 80 acres of land although we are a hub for an expanded neighborhood community. Many join us weekly for potlucks, expressive dance, Qi Gong, monthly musical gatherings, and seasonal celebrations in our temple, as well as tending to our orchard. We are excited to welcome others to join us on the land who are dedicating their lives to spiritual growth and ready to live in a more focused and intimate heart-centered lifestyle. Might that be you or someone you know? The fundamentals are simple. Spirit. We listen personally and collectively together most mornings, usually starting with a musical offering, a prayer, or a short reading, followed by about 40 minutes of what we call “sacred silence.” Heart Circles. About once a week we gather to share and listen. We are informed by authentic and compassionate communication practices. Nature. The land itself—an 80-acre oasis of field and forest perched above the wild and scenic South Yuba River—calls for our stewardship in the gardens, orchard, greenhouses, and general care. In turn, nature feeds us abundantly, both literally and spiritually. Interbeing. We join with others to share inspiration and connection as we host monthly gatherings of song, story and prayer that draws from the larger community in addition to other events we share with our closer neighbors. As we attend to these fundamentals, Grace flows to and through us—often in “Wild” or unexpected ways. Grace catalyzes through us, but is not something we possess. Because we all are connected, we feel that Grace actively transforms n

Housing Co-op in Berkeley, CA has two member openings for 1-bedroom units

Parker Street Cooperative (PSC) – a co-owned housing co-op in Berkeley – has two openings for 1-bedroom units for new prospective members! THE APPLICATION DEADLINE IS 11:59PM ON NOV 1ST, 2026 You can find the application on our website at parkerstcoop.org Our monthly assessment for a 1-bedroom will likely be just $675 (compared with average rent of about $2,400 for a 1-bedroom in Berkeley). This covers all our shared costs. This is a great opportunity to become a fellow co-owner at a very affordable cost and secure long-term low-cost housing with a co-op community in a fantastic location in Berkeley! The current  share price for a 1-bedroom membership is about $30,600 (which is a small fraction of market rates and entirely refunded/sold back with nominal interest if a member leaves the co-op) ONE-TIME CAPITAL CONTRIBUTION FEE Lastly, if admitted, becoming a member also requires a one-time, nonrefundable $6,000 Capital Contribution Fee, which helps sustain the co-op property. For example, renovating a unit prior to move-in averages about $12,000.   CO-OP DETAILS PSC has 24 units in two buildings. We’re located in a highly convenient Berkeley location, fairly near the UC Berkeley campus, downtown, a bunch of grocery stores, Ashby Avenue, the Berkeley hills, two BART stations and other public transportation, and just two blocks west of Telegraph and two blocks south of Dwight.   The apartments have beautiful, nearly wall-to-wall windows in the living room, sizable windows in the bedroom and kitchen, hardwood floors, and original Art Deco kitchens and bathrooms. Shared spaces include common rooms, rooftop decks, beautiful though moderate garden spaces (17 fruiting plants!), high-quality fitness equipment, a very well-equipped maintenance room, bike/storage space, and a rear parking lot. MAKING IT POSSIBLE We co-own and manage the property and work together to help keep it very affordable for us and for those who come after us. For that reason, we need people who are excited and prepared to contribute substantial time, energy, and skills to the co-op, such as project leadership, budget management, facilitation, conflict mediation, administration and/or gardening. An ability to get along with a wide range of different people is also highly desirable, and prior co-op experience, or similar experience with cooperative or community-based living, is a plus. MAINTENANCE SKILLS — HIGHEST PRIORITY FOR THIS OPENING For these specific openings, substantial maintenance experience/skills are a major priority! 9-MONTH PROSPECTIVE TRIAL PERIOD The final two candidates selected after our interview process would first enter a 9-month fixed-term tenancy. As a tenant, the candidate would pay $1,675/month in rent, along with a $1,675 security deposit (which is either refunded or credited towards the share value). Near the end of the 9 months, the co-op will make a final decision about whether to offer the candidate admission as a co-op co-owner. CO-OP TOURS We’re planning to organize at least two tours of the co-op property in October before the application deadline. If you’d be interested in joining a tour, please contact us at pa***************************@***il.com and let us know. We don’t have openings that often, and each one is a special opportunity! Please feel free to share this opening with anyone who might be interested in being a new member for our community!
