Update May 2025: Thanks for your interest. Quick update, we spent this past winter in Nicaragua getting to know the area as a potential location. We fell in love with the island of Ometepe and have all agreed that this is where we want to be.
So obviously we are still in the early stages, and we’re currently focused on finding land on Ometepe and trying to form a strong, diverse team. We are currently a group of 13 people (including children), and we are committed to values such as social and generational diversity, inclusivity, local economy, sustainability, and permaculture. At the heart of our project is a shared governance model based on trust, where every voice is valued.
Inclusivity is incredibly important to us. We have community members who identify as queer, non-binary, and polyamorous, and we are deeply committed to creating a safe, welcoming environment for all. We also highly value personal autonomy and believe in fostering an atmosphere where nudity is not sexualized and where free love can be expressed naturally and respectfully. It’s essential that everyone feels seen, respected, and free to be their authentic selves.
Our vision is to live in harmony with the earth, with each other, and with the local culture, while our mission focuses on simplicity and reproducibility. Our hope is that this community will serve as a foundation for a decentralized network of like-minded communities, working together in partnership. We are looking for others who would like to band together to create a community space that would be a combination hybrid between an eco village and commune style. Some key shared values:
