What we do

The Natural Behavior Permaculture Project is a mindful intention to explore the natural human instinct as it was evolved by reality. Our genetic legacy tells the tale of a defenseless, balding mammal, once from the trees, but now thriving on the ground. Surviving through the power of cooperative social instincts which carried our ancestors through, we accumulated genes for ecological balance just as the birds, and the bees, and the trees around us, before language even emerged. Language abilities eventually introduced the potential for falsehoods to begin accumulating culturally until superstition gave our social instincts a shared fiction that institutions could control, and a dark age of lies began. Cultural learning can, and must, carry the great responsibility of passing down our growing body of discovered knowledge, but we are too easily blinded by fictions and broken from our native compassion by violent fears. While honoring the critical place for cultural learning and scientific discovery, we remember to remember that our instincts still carry precious wisdom written in our DNA by evolution and deep time. We listen deeply and playfully to the social space between ourselves in order to restore our native behavior and social instincts in loving, honest, and sustainable community with each other and for the well-being of all. In order to thrive in caring collaboration as a naturally social species, we honor the ancient wisdom of our biological evolution by awakening our suppressed human instincts to Empathy, Honesty, and Humility, rather than fear, fiction, or folly. To this end we share a nurturing a philosophy of naturist communal polyamory, deeply principled ethics, and regenerative living.
Website Disclaimer/Community Note:
If these pre-traditional values do not resonate with your beliefs, please go in peace without inquiring further, but if you want to know more, and choose to visit the website, please understand, before clicking through, that our website is privately operated without market constraints or religious intrusion, therefore the website does not participate in censorship of nature, so please do not expect clothing or pixelation in our photos, as this would betray our intentional values. We do however censor violence, hate, and such things that are in-fact harmful.

Our Mission

We are united and motivated by our common value of EMPATHY above all, defined principally as “Communal Motivation” in the sense of care for our universal well-being across time and space. Second only to Empathy, we honor HONESTY concerning the sacred truth of the singular Reality, as self-defined by the corroborated objectivity of scientific rigor, rationality, and predictive value, to the exclusion of *any* supernaturalistic lies, ancient or modern. There can be valid space for an honest “spirituality”(psychology/community/mystery), and we hope to foster that, but if you are “spiritual” in a literally supernatural sense, or if you promote pseudoscientific fabrications of imagination without legitimate, corroborated discovery, this is not your community, as we see this as a form of dishonesty against Reality by elevating subjective imagination over the essential epistemic humility that underlies our productive curiosity for Reality(Source/Everything/One). Any fictional lie claiming to “know” the unknown by subjective means is explicitly unwelcome. Thirdly, we aim to encourage one-anothers’ mutual growth by fostering the developing HUMILITY of social permaculture philosophy and regenerative earth-friendly systems design in all aspects of our relationships and stewardship of earth, this does not exclude technology but constrains it within these three motivations. The goal is to hold space for a shared respect of one anothers’ consciousness within the authority of Reality, to the intentional exclusion of dangerously confusing superstitions that have held humanity hostage to lies. This may seem closed-minded and will exclude most people, but it is the primary reason this project exists for those few who want such Honest and Humble fellowship in a spirit of Empathy. Otherwise we could just go elsewhere and this special space would not be needed, but nothing like this seems to exist anywhere else in the world, so we are determined to manifest it. Those who believe various superstitions have their designated religious spaces, just as we join to create this space for those who do not. Please understand that this is not really negotiable for the purposes of this intentional community. This space is specially made available for those who seek refuge from fear, lies, and ego, among other things, which are outlined in more detail on the website.

How to join

We do not host casual drop-in visitors. There is an extended vetting process consisting of multiple meetings with the community membership after which the community will discuss internally. Only safe, mature, sincere people who align with the vision of the community will be considered. Requests for more information or meetings will be evaluated by how well they express their understanding of, and affinity to, the intention, so please review the listed website carefully and explain the specific reasons for your interest in this specific community in your inquiry. Inquiries that clearly do not understand our intentional values are not likely to receive a reply.

Basic expectations or agreements for members

There are special gatherings that prospective applicants are invited to join for meeting and greeting in a safe space for applicants who feel they may be in alignment with what this project is trying to accomplish. Our community gatherings are not open to visitors until the current community agrees to add members on a case-by-case basis. For questions and inquiries please use the “Contact” option available on this IC.org listing. Anyone reaching out will be expected to have carefully read through the website linked in this listing which goes into more detail than is available here. Inquiries that overlook our key values are un-likely to receive a response. That website can be found here: https://sites.google.com/view/natural-behavior-permaculture

3000sf House+Apartment, Rosewind Cohousing, Port Townsend WA

We are a retired couple who are downsizing, still living within the community. We are selling our large, flexible, comfortably rustic house, perfect for a multigenerational household, a family with kids or for 2 separate households. It’s 3000 square feet on 3 levels. The house is on a slope, with 2 main entrances. At one time it housed a large blended family. The current setup is a 2250 square foot, 2 bath main house with a 700 square foot rental apartment, also called an auxiliary dwelling unit (ADU). There is a staircase between the main and lower floor, with a lockable door. If desired, the ADU kitchen can be removed. The main floor has a very large kitchen/dining area, large living room, two small bedrooms, a bathroom with 2 sinks and a shower, a laundry room and a large mudroom. The non-bearing wall between the 2 bedrooms can be removed to turn it back to a single primary bedroom. The top floor has two bedrooms, one of which is primary with a large bright sitting area, and a large open middle area between them (game room, TV room, kids sleeping area, etc.). There is a bathroom with a claw-foot tub, no shower. The lower floor is the ADU, a finished storage area and a stand-up “crawl space“ which is used as a second pantry and storage.Attached to the house there is also a 150 sq ft wood paneled office/hobby space with its own electric and propane lines. Features: – straw bale construction, which is energy-efficient, great sound insulation, and provides a warm, soft, feeling. -very large functional kitchen with a long granite countertop. The dining area fits 10 people. -natural construction, with solid maple floors in the middle and upper level, marmoleum floor in kitchen and oak floor in the lower level. Worktrade Opportunities on Big Island Hawaii

We are continuing our work-trade program at Bridge Hawaii for the right people on this beautiful 86-acre land located along the Hāmākua Coast. Ideally, we want to host those individuals who can help with the garden and who can support with build projects for up to a 3 month stay. This work-trade would include lodging, food staples, community kitchen, running hot water showers, off-grid electricity, and laundry. There is access to high speed wi-fi. We often have a car that can be reserved. We also have full bar signal strength with Verizon cellphone service. We have about 2 acres of permaculture garden that needs to be cared for including; weeding, planting, picking up mulch, some tree trimming, ect. We are currently in a building stage on the land. We have a few current grant projects we are working on and some build projects that are underway. We are an intentional community with about 8 permanent residents. There are rescue dairy cows, mini cows, mini donkeys, horses, a donkey, cats, dogs, and active bee hives. We are a drug and alcohol “free” space. A glass of wine or beer with dinner is fine, but absolutely no day drinking or parties. We have a meditation temple and many waterfall pools that are wonderful for swimming. Close to some of the nicest beaches on island. We have snorkeling gear and a kayak. Since this is an animal sanctuary, we limit the consumption of meat on the land. Fish, eggs, honey, and dairy are fine. Let me know if you’re interested by sending an email or text for our application. Maomi (801) 623-0738 ma***@*****************ii.com
