I am half asian half jewish. We keep somewhat kosher and keep shabbat not strictly. I have traveled to many countries and remote areas and visited jewish locals there. I have always supported radical grass roots social movements.
More than a decade ago I saw a documentary on the Karen people in Myanmar fighting against the Govt and I knew that I wanted to go and help them. About 5 years ago I decided that I would start planning this trip. 2-3 years ago I had some karen rebel soldiers work for me that I became very close to.
We have this crazy impossible idea to establish a Kibbutz in Myanmar. The idea is to give some technical advancement to the locals around us and bring a community of once forgotten people to an area of the world where people are now forgotten. The goal is to bring about change. From the businesses that I had previously we have a lot of equipment. We have around 20 bunk beds and mattresses, full commercial kitchen, full electronics workshop, and metal working machines. We are currently in a safe area with a good place for the next year or so until we establish a larger settlement. What we need now is funding and people.
We are accepting people to apply to come and join us. It is a long term difficult project that one should consider very carefully. But the reward is that you could save hundreds or thousands of lives. The costs are of course very dangerous. Also we need people in different countries to help connect us with those who could help. There are some radical philanthropic social change organizations but we understand that acquiring funding for this type of project is very difficult. Currently we are self funded from work we do etc.
We are not a rebel or resistance group. We believe that people should be able to live in peace and manage their own land. Our goal is to transfer some knowlegde and technical skills to the locals around us. To bring about some change where the locals are able to live and prosper without the threat of danger and mismanagment from outside control.
