Jubilee Partners is an ecumenical Christian service community located in rural northeast Georgia. Since 1980, we have been offering hospitality to families and individuals who have left their homes because of violence and persecution. Over the years, Jubilee has hosted around 4000 people from 35 different countries.
Through our life together, we seek to embody the peace, justice, mercy and love of the kingdom of God. Along with our ministry of hospitality, some in our community write and visit people in prison, including inmates on Georgia’s death row. We support friends who are working among poor and marginalized people around the world, particularly in Central America. We also put a good deal of labor into tending our 250 acres of land in a way that cares for its ecological health and lets it serve as a place of refuge and peace for those who come here.
Our name is a reference to the year of Jubilee described in the book of Leviticus. In this year, prisoners were to be set free, debts forgiven, and resources shared with the poor. Jesus made reference to the year of Jubilee when he read from the prophet Isaiah in the synagogue at Nazareth:
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
for he has anointed me
to bring good news to the afflicted.
He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives,
sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free,
to proclaim a year of favor from the Lord. (Luke 4:18-19)
As a community, we seek to live our life together as a celebration of this good news.
We are a Christian service community in rural Georgia, founded in 1979. Our primary work is to offer hospitality to refugees who have experienced violence or persecution.
Our membership process always begins with volunteering at Jubilee. Check out our website to learn more about our volunteer program. Usually prospective members will take a year or so to volunteer, then apply to be a novice. The novitiate may last 1 to 3 years, or longer if needed, before requesting to become a partner (our term for membership).

One person or partnership has ultimate authority.

Primary authority rests with the community’s founder(s) or designated leader(s).
Our community coordinator is chosen by vote of the members every 2 to 3 years. The coordinator selects 2 or 3 other members to be on the leadership team.
All member income goes into common pool for community use.
