We are the caretakers of 4-hectares near Loreto in the northwest Amazon region of Ecuador. There are two homes on the land, one is currently being used as living space for the stewards and for volunteers who visit to help with a variety of projects. The other home is completely vacant but available for someone or a few people who are interested in growing food, natural building, and living simply and peacefully in nature.
This would be a small community of basically the occupants of two homes on the land focused on growing as much food as possible implementing environmentally conscious, veganic, sustainable practices. We would work together to maximize the food production, maintain the land and trees, and work on whatever projects are needed or desired to improve life on the land. There would be no cost to staying there, just to care for the land and the home.
This would be ideal for someone who wants to stay for the longer term, as it would need basic furnishings and whatever creature comforts someone would like to be comfortable. There is electricity to the home, water from a well, and internet is available by either creating an account or using a router from the main home.
There is a fair amount of food growing on the land – lots of coffee, bananas, plantains, and cacao, as well as some pineapples, papayas, rollinia, oranges, mandarins, limes, zapote, rambutan, ice cream bean, caimito, coconuts, sugar cane, several medicinal plants, and more. Many more fruit trees have been planted and will continue to be planted until the land is densely populated with a wide variety of fruit trees and other edible or usable trees and plants.
Our mission is to create a space where humans who share the values of freedom, respect, and healthy living can experience life in a simple form, connected with nature, as free as possible from oppression from or reliance on others, living as our true selves, with respect for and in harmony with all of nature, ourselves, and others, eating fresh vibrant natural food while consciously and sustainably using the resources from the land for the benefit of the ecosystem and its inhabitants in perpetuity.
We would like to give you as much information as possible, and if you are interested you can visit. If you like the place and we get along you can stay :)

The whole membership decides collectively.
Still developing or unclear governance approach.
We don’t have a “government”. The intention is to create a space where a few like-minded people (vegan, clean organic food forest practices, respect for nature, no animal domestication) can live in proximity to each other autonomously in harmony with the values.
Members maintain separate personal finances with minimal sharing.
Labor: Encouraged or suggested
Members with pre-existing debt: allowed
Rooms in the shared home are available for work exchange (we currently host volunteers from WorkAway)
The single-family home is available at no cost for someone who would take care of the home and the garden, The home is vacant and could use some work, and the stewards would just pay for whatever utilities they opt to use (ie electricity – which is very inexpensive – and internet). The water comes from a well on the land.
