CoHo Ecovillage is a family-friendly, intentional cohousing community of 34 households on 6.8 acres in Corvallis, Oregon, a short walk from downtown. We have built a community where people of all ages — children, adults, and elders — can live, work, and grow together.
We believe in community, connection, cooperation, and respect for diversity, and we strive to create an environment where every resident feels supported, connected, and empowered. We practice consensus-based decision-making, nonviolent communication, and shared responsibility, ensuring that all voices are heard. Sustainability is also central to our mission: we integrate green building practices, permaculture landscaping, composting and shared resources to reduce our environmental impact.
The design of our village encourages interaction and connection. Homes are clustered around shared paths, gardens, and natural areas, while parking is located at the edges, creating safer, walkable spaces. For families and children, this layout provides room to play, explore, and socialize outdoors while neighbors naturally keep an eye out for one another. Children grow up with peers and mentors across multiple generations, forming strong friendships and supportive relationships.
At the heart of our community is the Common House, which hosts regular common meals, celebrations, team meetings, and social events. Households benefit from the playroom, guest room, library, laundry room, and shared dining room and kitchen, making daily life easier and more connected. Parents, elders, and other residents naturally support each other with childcare, activities, and shared responsibilities, helping everyone feel part of a larger village.
We are a multigenerational community, with residents ranging from infants to elders. This diversity strengthens our culture, fostering mentorship, collaboration, and mutual support. We also welcome participation from Friends of CoHo and Associate Members, further expanding our circle of connection and shared learning.
Our outdoor spaces reflect both our social and environmental values. Community gardens, play areas, abundant fruit trees, a hot tub, a quiet gazebo garden, a little nature trail, access to a seasonal pond and other natural areas provide opportunities for children and adults to learn about land stewardship and sustainable living. Sharing tools, rides, and skills reduces consumption while strengthening our sense of interdependence.

Renters
You can rent a unit if there’s availability. Rental terms are negotiated with the current unit owner. You must contact the community’s Membership Team before signing a lease.
Owners
CoHo units are owned by the residents; resales are handled directly between buyer and seller. Prospective buyers should also contact the Membership Team as part of their membership process. Becoming a Friend of CoHo first can help you learn more about the community and potential vacancies.
Friends of CoHo
Ideal for people who want social contact and support community life but aren’t living in CoHo. You can participate in events and stay connected without residency.
Associate Members
Designed for those who want a deeper level of engagement than Friends.These members commit time, energy, and money and have defined roles, rights, and responsibilities within the community.
