In this 90-minute interactive webinar, we’ll explore the history, principles, practices, and methodologies of ecovillages worldwide, with an emphasis on the transformative potential of the ecovillage approach.
This event also includes an introduction to the Global Ecovillage Network (GEN), an introduction to the Map of Regeneration and the Ecovillage Principles, and ecovillage solutions from around the world.
Taisa is the Education & Research Coordinator at the Global Ecovillage Network and works as an internal trainer and consultant in the fields of sustainability, social innovations, and community life. She has coordinated and taught Gaia Education and UNESCO certified Ecovillage Design Education Programmes globally since 2009.
Taisa is the author of the book Ecovillages: Building a Regenerative Culture. She holds a maters degree in Communities and Social Ecology and is also a Professor at the Post-Graduate Program of Pedagogy of Cooperation and Social Methodologies in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. Taisa has contributed to transition initiatives both in urban and rural and is the lead author of the GEN Regenerative Urban Communities Manual.
GEN is a growing network of regenerative communities and initiatives, founded in 1995, and with consultative status to UN ECOSOC and UNEP. Comprising of five continental networks and a youth arm, GEN reaches out to around 7,000 communities in 114 countries, building bridges between policy-makers, governments, NGOs, academics, entrepreneurs, activists, community networks and ecologically-minded individuals across the globe in order to develop strategies for a global transition to resilient communities and cultures.
