fortunity reflects an urban community lifestyle based on a complex combination of residential, commercial, and rural properties with interwoven related projects in development. Our passion above and beyond co-living is personal growth, healing, and communication — in many forms. We place a high priority on conflict resolution, group processing, and problem solving. Take a look at our website for more info, and call or email to schedule a visit / tour if appropriate.
We are seeking more core-committed or equity-invested members to proceed more effectively and build on current momentum, though we welcome more transient members as well.
Please also note: we would best be defined as ‘spiritual not religious’, represent many different ideologies, dietary paths, and cultivate open minded but grounded and healthy lifestyle choices. Pets, use of chemicals / fragrances, addictions, and substance abuse are not welcome here. Responsible, eco-aware and conscious living definitely is.
We believe in open honest dialogue, and focus on relationship building as a foundation to create authentic community. Our intentions are to provide a growth oriented experience. Current active projects include: planting gardens, property improvements, a weekly potluck dinner and house meetings to address relevant topics. We are also hoping to further progress with our rural farm property nearby, and eventually re-opening an urban commercial building with an education and information themed business model.
There are a few different tiers of residency, or ways people can live here, though this process is not rigidly defined. Inquire for more info.
Email or call first and we’ll discuss your particulars. Though we are usually busy, and rarely accommodate last-minute travelers, we will consider serious inquiries or couch-surf those with community experience passing through. We have a screening process, but remain open to serendipity as appropriate. :)
One person or partnership has ultimate authority.
A single person, couple, or small group makes most major decisions.
Primary authority rests with the community’s founder(s) or designated leader(s).
Our governance is a hybrid of sorts. Though there is one founding core member-owner remaining, input is always sought from the core residents and whomever is affected by any decision.
Members maintain separate personal finances with minimal sharing.
Regular fees: $700
Labor: Encouraged or suggested (3 hrs/week)
Members with pre-existing debt: allowed
Note: monthly fees above equate to average monthly room rentals + utilities — not dues or other membership costs. Though not officially stated, there will usually be an initial investment of time during a membership evaluation or trial run period. Light work, meetings, and other forms of contribution will be involved. Though we do not formally income share, we do encourage healthy trade / exchange and future community income generation.
