What we do

Hello , Our names are Spirit and Seven. We are looking to create communal living on our one Hectare of land. the land was given to us by a land share that we are a part of. We want to help support one another and live organically and sustainably.
A bit about us, we are a young family with a 3yr old a 2yr old and one on the way , Seven has 2 more kids that come see us as well from time to time as well as a border collie dog and cat that both live outdoors. We live a very simple life with few items and eat simply off the land. We are into creating music, gardening, respecting the earth, yoga, meditation, helping one another, hiking, learning, spirituality, and connecting to your inner self. Our goal in life is to help shift the world to be more one with nature, respect the earth, respect each other and show love and compassion to others. This world is filled with consumerism and greed and high levels of ego. It is hard for a young couple that wants to detach from society and still live in this world. We don’t want to be in debt our whole life or work just to live.
What does communal living look like to us.
We are trying to get together with either a family or couple that are interested in working together to create food for us all with gardens and preserving and foraging. Sharing meals, raising our children together, sharing the load of responsibilities of living off grid, sharing a pool of money that is attributed to our community, sharing our land for you to build a small house or bring a building to live in, we could help you build a home on the land, sharing items such as our truck our studio and many other possibilities, doing yoga and other spiritual practises together, Connecting to nature and one another and being there and supportive to each other, be happier.
Currently we have a house on the land that we have built, a small wood shed , a studio/guesthouse and a camper trailer. We have simple running water into our kitchen sink and a hand pump well, we aren’t connected to the grid but we do have a solar system. Our house is small but we are willing to open our home as a Landing spot if needed. Seven is willing to help with building as he helped build the house that we live in, our goal is to have maybe two or three families living here on the land, in small dwellings and have a community kitchen and living area that we could all get together and live in Harmony. We want to create practises and guidelines that is defined and written so we know the direction we want to go as a commune and make it clear so everyone understands it to avoid conflict. We want to open our home, the land that we’ve been gifted and our hearts and share with others and try to live differently.

Cohousing: A Contemporary Approach to Housing Ourselves Books for Sale

Cohousing: A Contemporary Approach to Housing Ourselves, Charles Durrett and Kathryn McCamant introduce Cohousing with stories and pictures of both Danish and American communities. Beautiful photographs and line drawings illustrate the warmly written account of how these communities came to be. Specific information on legal and financial aspects of working with developers, group process, and design issues make this book informative as well as inspiring. This is the book which brought Cohousing to North America. This book is the much prized second edition which has become a rarer and somewhat of a collectors item. Its community case studies were not included in the more recent publication. It preceded Creating Cohousing which is widely available. I acquired 25 cases from a local distributor who closed down. If you would like three or more copies for yourself, to share with your friends or to market your group, please let me know. I would love for them to be made useful and find great homes. Books are paperback (hard copy was not an option at the time from the publisher) all brand new, in Oakland (CA) so could be picked in Oakland or mailed to you. I would very much like to recuperate what I paid which is $10 per book. So, If you would like three or more shipped, I will add the postage, packing and handling fees. I have sold several cases (18 books per case) for $150 per case ($8 per book). I have a little wiggle room on the pricing. Please let me know if you are interested. True North CoHousing Community Seeking Founders

True North is a small, women-centered intentional community where self-directed, purposeful women share space, resources, and genuine commitment to each other’s wellbeing. We are building something that is greater than the sum of its parts — a life that is richer, more secure, and more meaningful because we are living it together. Our Vision A community where no one falls through the cracks. Where aging is something we navigate together rather than alone. Where the people around you notice when you’re struggling, celebrate when you’re thriving, and show up — not because they have to, but because that’s simply who we are to each other. We are building this as a tiny house village — a model we chose deliberately. Many intentional communities require crazy buy-in sums, putting them out of reach for most women navigating life on a single income. We believe that financial accessibility isn’t a compromise — it’s a value. Your home will be yours: as simple or as appointed as fits your life and circumstances, sized right for the life you are living now and the one you are building toward. We live lightly on the land and invest heavily in the relationships that make life worth living. We’re currently forming our founding group — the women who will help shape what this community becomes, where it lands, and how it lives. Not ready to be a founder but feel this in your gut? We want to hear from you too. There’s a place for you here at whatever stage feels right. https://www.truenorthcommunity.info/ jhock2016@proton.me
