What we do

We are a new project in Portugal with a big dream: To build a healing biotope to live, work and create. Bridging into a regenerative culture, balancing self-realization and service to all to unfold everyone’s fullest potential.
We are focusing on a multi-generational approach where people from different backgrounds come together to experiment, develop and transform through various projects within the dream. We aim to live in a regenerative culture, embracing life with gratitude, respect and love. Our vision is a lush and lively landscape that feeds and nourishes an active, healthy & healing, creative community.
We are still in the pioneering phase – which means in a very emencepatory and powerful phase. It is now that we can greatly shape the project and define it’s culture and vision. Also now, we need plenty of hands-on support to realize the dream that we all hold true in our hearts: A place where we can fully discover and be ourselves, living our individual lives as part of a greater puropseful organism. Where we can make our living with what we most believe in and what makes us happy. Where we learn from each other and support one another’s dreaming.
We aim to become a place where people get the space to transition from one (busy, stressed,…) lifestyle to another. Where they can feel safe to reconnect with themselves, the natural world and their purpose. We envision being a place of learning (permaculture, plant-based cooking, natural building, bodywork, personal development, arts…) where people can take courses or just come and learn by doing. We also dream to be a place to see that it is in fact possible to live in a peaceful and regenerative way.

Two Homes Available in Cohousing Community - Indianola, WA

The Wise Acres Community is a cohousing neighborhood in Indianola, Washington. We currently have two openings: a 5-bedroom house and a 1-bedroom cottage. In Wise Acres, we gather for dinners, parties, and other events in our common house and tend a community garden together. We look out for each other, make decisions by consensus, and share the work of stewarding the land. One house available for rent has 4 bedrooms, plus a study that can be used as a bedroom. The kitchen and great room face east and south, with high windows that invite lots of natural light. The single-story home has a wood-burning stove in the living room and a whole-house A/C heat pump. Volunteering

Looking for Full Time Volunteers

We are currently accepting full-time residential volunteers. Join us for 6 months (or more) at our Tibetan Buddhist center. Volunteers receive their own private room as well as all meals covered. Volunteers also have full access to classes, workshops, events, and ceremonies. This is a labor-intensive work study program–volunteers work 6 days a week on a variety of tasks such as cooking, cleaning, house maintenance, gardening, It & Tech, event planning, administrative duties, and more.

Healing Love Healing Money: Trust As The Foundation For A New Culture

Money, love and power are among the hardest things any community works with, and many of us carry the same fears into both: not having enough, losing what we have, and the sense that if someone else gets money or love, we won’t. Healing Love, Healing Money: Trust as the Foundation for a New Culture is taught by two intentional communities. Karen McAllister and Duncan Cryle are from Clear Sky Meditation and Retreat Center, a Buddhist-lineage community in the BC Rockies. Monika Alleweldt and Benjamin von Mendelssohn from Tamera Healing Biotope, a community of about 160 people in southern Portugal that has spent decades studying love, trust and relationship. Clear Sky has spent years working on its relationship with money, and our two communities found surprising parallels in the fears beneath both. Over four sessions we explore the roots of fear around money and belonging, love, possession and power, trust as infrastructure (community as a container for healing), and ethical livelihood. We use short meditations, body-based practices, reflection and small-group conversation. You do not need to be in a romantic relationship or live in community. When: October 27, Nov 3, 10, 17. All four sessions: 12–2pm Vancouver, 1–3pm Alberta, 7–9pm UK and Portugal, 8–10pm Central Europe. Note: US and some Canadian provinces change clocks on November 1, so the US west coast is 12–2pm on October 27, then 11am–1pm for the remaining sessions, and Eastern is 3–5pm on October 27, then 2–4pm for the rest. An Evening with the GENOA Council

In a busy city, it’s easy to forget that people have always found ways to live closely together, with each other and with the land. Around the world, communities are quietly remembering how. This isn’t a how-to workshop. It’s a space to listen, be inspired, and reflect on what community, resilience and regeneration could mean for you.
