What we do

The Station is a triplex in Alameda, California, established in late 2021. Our five-adult community members consist of conductors, station agents, and passengers. Conductors have an equity stake in the property; they hold the financial and logistical management processes involved in maintaining the property and grounds. Station agents are renters; they have the option to participate in the development of the site. Passengers are our friends and family members who come to visit. As of May 2023, we have a shared clubhouse space that is slowly growing into something special.
We established The Station after an infusion of intergenerational wealth made it possible for the conductors to purchase of a triplex on a large suburban lot. Over the course of 2022, all of the community members moved in and we’ve been co-creating community ever since.
