About me

Quanta has lived in and contributed to the Intentional Community movement for over 5 decades. She is President and Co-founder of Yashapi, a 501(c)(3) committed to pathways of belonging and empowerment for BIPOC, LGBTQIA2S+, and those seeking regenerative, synergistic, and innovative lifestyles.

Her experience spans a wide range of cooperative models, from smaller community-house co-ops to larger collectives with over a thousand residents, and includes raising her son within a dynamic multi-cultural IC.

As a woman of color whose heritage includes African, Indigenous Yakima Nation, and German, Quanta came of age during the Civil Rights era of the 1960s. She has a lifetime dedicated to social justice, collective liberation, and creating spaces where all people can belong, be seen, and thrive. She currently serves on the FIC Board of Directors and on the Board of Directors of the FIC’s BIPOC Intentional Community Council.

Quanta and her partner of 46 years are founding members of Olamina MicroVillage and Commons in Winston-Salem, NC and the YasVille Assembly, a Community hub for Communication, Culture and Care

Rooted in personal transformation, healing, and resilience, Quanta brings an integration of relational leadership, ritual design, Interpersonal Circle practices, eldering, and transformational community-care grounded in decolonizing and re-tribalizing.
