Network for a New Culture (NFNC) is a non-land-based* intentional community of several hundred people throughout the US, originally inspired in part by the ideals and goals of the ZEGG community in Germany. Our members are those who have experienced New Culture at an event, gathering, workshop, or at an intentional community based on New Culture, and choose to become part of our intense and intimate network.
NFNC sees community as a means to social change, and one of our goals is to encourage our members to establish communities which serve as models of healthy ways of relating to the Earth and to each other. We see community as a means to produce a world without fear, violence, coercion, or sexual repression. We believe that there are several key components to realizing this vision: self-responsible individuals; mutual support, honesty and openness in interpersonal relationships, a realization that means determine ends, and a realization that the personal is political — that is, a commitment to personal growth and change.
At present there are local NFNC groups in Hawaii, Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, North Carolina, West Virginia, Virginia, DC and Massachusetts; and there are intentional communities based on NFNC principles in Virginia, West Virginia, Hawaii, California, Washington and Oregon. To facilitate the community-forming and personal growth process, NFNC members hold conferences, workshops, and camps throughout the year.

Summer Camp Mission Statement
Summer Camp is co-creating the transformation of our culture into Universal Love in the deepest sense. By Universal Love we mean deep intimacy, transparency, honesty, spirituality, genuine equality, compassion, and sexual freedom all through the context of community.
People become members of New Culture by attending our gatherings, connecting with other New Culture people, and choosing to embody the experiences and values that characterize New Culture. There is no formal process, but in most cases it will mean that a person has been to one or more major events (5-day events or longer).
Please email a note to in**@**nc.org to get on the mailing list for our events, which occur throughout the year, on both the East and West Coasts, the Southwest, and Hawaii. Since we are a tribe, a community of the heart, rather than a land-based community, visiting our community is done by connecting with the many local New Culture groups in various parts of the US, and by having you join us at events… see our website for events and contacts for local groups.
A few people (not elected by the broader community) make the major decisions.
Generally seek agreement, but have backup methods when consensus isn’t reached.
Power and responsibility are shared relatively equally among members.
The governmental process is very fluid and responsive, having elements of consensus, responsible anarchy, and eldership.
Formal sponsorship of NFNC events is done by our 501(c)3 parent organization: New Culture Institute.
Members maintain separate personal finances with minimal sharing.
Members with pre-existing debt: allowed
As a non-profit, our events have reasonable fees to cover the costs of producing them.
