We believe in family with children dedicated to the truth before they were born.We created this eco friendly community in 2017 and changed some of it’s objectives trough time. All we want is to preserve nature here and everywhere in the world by taking active steps like creating eco villages in most strategic places where the biggest forests of our Earth are located. Such places need to be monitored closely by the communities that live there, communities that adopt a sustainable lifestyle. Our main focus is Apuseni mountains and also the vast region of Amazon from South America. We want to adopt in the Amazon the strategy that we adopted here because it is working. We saved Rosia Montana from big mining companies that seek only profit. Together with other activists we took actions, we arranged protests and stopped them. This can also be done in the Amazon. Also, every time we encountered a harmful activity( dumping waste in the rivers, cutting trees illegally, hunting of wild animals, smoking in a dry season and throwing the leftovers from the cigarettes, we took measures to stop it. In this way we became unwanted here even by local authorities that are corrupt to the core. People that love alcohol also hate us very much. They don’t want to change their harmful behavior and are threatening us every time they have the courage ( alcohol helps them..) For us is very important that more people choose to live eco friendly and preserve the nature. Around here we are only a few in our endeavors because we can’t establish good relationships with nearby communities ( they are very religious and don’t accept us because we don’t have their religion), they pretend to respect God but are not interested in preserving his creation that is our magnificent nature.

Newt Crossing is 17 acres of beautiful wooded hillside just 3 miles outside of Port Townsend, Washington. There have been plans for an intentional community on this property for many years, but in the summer of 2019 Charles Durrett of McCamant & Durrett Architects was brought on board. Durrett came to Port Townsend and completed a feasibility study. Please check our website for current meetings.

Newt Crossing presents the possibility for members to do extensive gardening, there is a start of an orchard, and sustainable wood harvesting is planned. Being so near Port Townsend, members can enjoy the many cultural offerings that this amazing small town offers.

Welcome to the Errants Arise Community, a sanctuary for souls seeking resilience and self-sufficiency in these times of transformation. Our gates are open to those with grit, a willingness to share and learn a multitude of skills, and who are hardworking and ready to tackle the challenges ahead. In the face of current uncertain futures, we stand together, fortified by strength and motivation in intentional living, and with a commitment to preparedness against potential threats like natural/man-made disasters, grid collapses, internal attacks, or global conflicts.

Introducing myself- Matt Kubas, Errants Arise founder, U.S. Marine turned contractor. The betrayal on 9/11 triggered my awakening – after much research, I was set on course to begin my journey in 2008 when the veils of deception finally lifted. Since then, my pursuits have included delving into spirituality, plant medicines, ancient history, and mastering survival skills. Our current abode stretches across 2 acres in Edgewood, NM, featuring diverse shelters, multiple gardens, a sawmill, a semitrailer turned storage unit, and two military-grade tents. Our more lovable features include a newly born baby Oberhasli (male goat born on 3/6/2024), 2 cats, 2 dogs, lots of chickens, 2 does, 1 wether, and (coming soon) horses – which will help us in the scenario that we must become nomadic.

At present, our community is supported by (2) spirited, early life pillars, and 2 other veterans ((1) OEF/OIF U.S. Navy & (1) U.S. Airforce) reinforcing the founder. We have a great group so far, with an amalgamation of medical/ IT/ mechanic/ construction engineering/ sportsmanship/ leadership and people skills. We look forward to welcoming additional members possessing skills that can be transferred/taught and shared within the community. We honor one another and we learn one another as we rise in community. We think of ourselves, the seeers, the seekers, and the stewards.

Our journey is driven by the aspiration for self-sufficiency, and revival of the spirit of the Earth Mother, echoing the lifestyles of our Native American ancestors. Join us on this transformative adventure, where the strength of our community is founded in unity, resilience, and a shared commitment to harmonious coexistence with the land and its caretakers. The path ahead is uncertain, but together, we navigate it with purpose and shared determination.

Earth Abides is located in a remote area in the Sierra Nevada foothills, in Central Sierra Miwuk lands.
We are a rural, intentional community and since 2019 Earth Abides is under the auspices of Canticle Farm, an Oakland, California-based nonprofit. Canticle Farm is an urban farm and educational center, an intentional community, and an experiment in faith-based activism, nonviolence, and restorative justice. Earth Abides was originally founded in 1976 in the lineage of the Catholic Worker movement, by people seeking to create a Catholic Worker Farm – one of the pillars of Peter Maurin’s three step program of social reconstruction (round table discussions, houses of hospitality, and farm communes or agronomic universities). You can learn more about our history on our website.

Surrounded by vast areas of wildlands, we have frequent encounters with a rich diversity of non-human kin, ranging from the smallest of organisms to large ones such as bear and cougar. We are currently building the foundation of our relationship to this place by learning how to harmonize ourselves with the ones who have already been living here in the form of human, plant, animal and elemental beings. Life here can be rugged at times. Examples include rural roads, social isolation, water and/or power limitations, being snowed in, chopping wood for wood stove heating, and living with fire hazard. Except for satellite internet and a landline, we are off-grid. Currently there are three people living full time on the land, with plenty of visitors and beautiful extended community members coming often.

Our main initiatives at this time are:
– Cleaning up waste left by previous occupants
– Wildfire fuels reduction
– Food, water, shelter and medicine sovereignty
– Building relationship with and creating land access for the Sierra Miwuk on their ancestral lands with the intention of honoring and being led by their ancestral wisdom.
– Educational offerings: Permaculture, nonviolence, restorative justice, and much more..

Bright Morning Star is a small urban household, formed to support our members in their social justice and artistic pursuits. Located in Seattle, we enjoy many benefits of city living, including a wide range of friends and interests outside our home: Quaker meeting, music, environmental and social justice organizations, Native American cultural revival, and the Northwest Intentional Community Association, among others. We share chores, food, mostly vegetarian meals, and meet regularly, making decisions by consensus. Our workdays honor the continued well-being of our home, and our celebrations recognize the Light within each of us. Occasionally one of us spontaneously bursts into song. We began as part of the Life Center Community in Philadelphia in 1979. In 1985 our core group of two couples (gay and straight) combining incomes and co-parenting three children moved to Seattle. Although members have come and gone over the years, we are still committed to maintaining a pleasant, cooperative, multicultural and nurturing environment for personal growth and social activism. Our “Solar Plan” is now complete: Two sets of solar panels produce large portions of our hot water and electricity; it’s quite a thrill to see the electric meter running in reverse. We now have an electric vehicle, which is partially charged by our solar system.
Invited guests are welcome. Advance notice required.

Magic

Website: http://www.ecomagic.org/
City: Palo Alto
State: California
Zip: 94306

Contact Name:

Magic is a residential service-learning community sponsored by an educational, charitable organization with the same name. Some residents shoulder primary responsibility for the organization’s service projects. You can learn more about our story, ideas, people, and projects at www.ecomagic.org. Here we aim to provide a sense of life in the community for those wondering about living with us.</

Physical Setting

We’re in Palo Alto, California. The climate is mild. Rain falls mostly December through March and we’ve at least a few hours of sunshine even on stormy days. Air quality is generally high. Though transitioning towards urban, Palo Alto is still bursting with greenery. In addition, tens of thousands of acres of protected, publicly accessible Santa Cruz Mountain wildlands, San Francisco Baylands, and Pacific Ocean beaches connected by hundreds of miles of trails are within biking distance. Our quiet neighborhood of tree-lined streets abuts a commercial district with restaurants, supermarkets, medical offices, and both bus and rail transit access.

Social context

Adjacent Stanford University, a handful of nearby tech giants, and a plethora of start-ups and established firms draw diverse, talented people from around the world. Highly regarded public schools, and well-maintained roads, parks, and other facilities reflect the well-being of the community and widespread participation in civic life. Single twenty- and thirty-somethings, young families, and seniors abound. Although we’re a social anomaly, we enjoy warm relations with nearly all our neighbors and many other Palo Altans.

Our land and homes

We occupy three detached homes and a handful of outbuildings that share our half-acre site with four heritage California native oaks, two dozen mature fruit trees, a small vegetable garden, and a growing collection of pollinator plants. One 1,000 ft2 home we renovated in 2002 with many salvaged materials. A second, 5600 ft2, we built in 2013 to model ecologically-informed design and construction. The third, 1400 ft2, nearly 100 years old, we partially remodeled in 1985 and are planning to extensively renovate or replace. We share a dedicated music studio, a home gym, a library, a workshop, a community kitchen with adjoining indoor and covered outdoor dining areas, a meeting room that easily accommodates 100+, five covered porches, two patios, and natural areas. We express love for each other by maintaining and operating our site, buildings, and equipment carefully.

In recent years we’ve been 12 (following a post-COVID-onset diaspora) to 22 residents aged mid-teen to middle eighties. We’ve hailed from more than a dozen countries and from around the US. About a third of us have been full-time students or faculty, half have been employed in tech, trades, or service, and the remainder have been full-time volunteers. We’ve diverse sexual and ethnic identities. We’re couples and singles. Four of us have made Magic for 13-50+ years and are communal in many aspects of life. About half of us stay for a year or longer. The rest come for weeks to months. We’re joined in becoming healthier selves in a broad and integrated sense, in contributing to a more peaceful and fairer society, in protecting the natural world on which human well-being is dependent, and to discovering how to do all of these better by learning to predict more accurately and fully consequences of our actions.

Our days

We’ve diverse daily rhythms, from early to bed, early to rise, to night owls, to split sleep schedules. Still we make music, dance, eat, practice yoga, meditate, run, hike, bike, backpack, play indoor and outdoor games, watch movies, teach, learn, volunteer, cook, clean, build, and repair together. We enjoy different and shifting balances of solitude and sociability. We laugh and joke a lot. A central element of our lives is a nightly community dinner which each of us attends 2-7 times per week. We rotate cooking and clean-up, and we eat fresh, locally grown food year-round. Residents regularly invite guests to dinner—500 in a typical year. We’re leading in evolving an emergent valuescience, in which we investigate how we and others can us methods and principles of ecology to discern more accurately what we want and to secure more of it for those of us alive today and those who may live in the future.

What we offer

We perceive greater sharing, giving, loving, responsibility, and freedom to be possible. We see the Magic community as a crucible in which to learn these. You can come for a meal, a party, a presentation, or a work session. We offer immersive stays of a day to months, residencies of months to years, and a possibility of lifelong friendship. More than half of the hundreds of people who’ve lived at Magic over a half century remain in contact and nearly one in ten have visited in the past year. If you think you may enjoy making Magic, we’ll welcome your inquiry.

Sirius is a spiritual community, educational center, and ecovillage founded in 1978 by former members of the Findhorn Community in Scotland. It is one part of an expanding network of light, working to increase the consciousness of humanity.

Sirius is a demonstration center of spiritual principles based on respect for the individual and cooperation with nature, seeing the divinity in all life. We are committed to living our lives with spiritual integrity recognizing that we are all in a process of growth with every experience in our life offering valuable lessons. Tucked away on a quiet street and within walking distance of cafes and New Seasons. In our co-living community there are many ways to get involved, like our gardening team, events planning, member selection, house charter, and our health and wellness team.

When we are full, we have 22 people in our co-living community. There’s a wide assortment of different personalities and backgrounds. LGBTQ+ friendly. Some of our interests are gardening, art, making music, rock climbing, going to concerts, dancing, reading, community, and drinking tea. We enjoy getting together for non-formal hangouts, as well as our monthly brunches and community dinners. At The Grove you’ll find the possibility for a good balance between having your own space to retreat to and and spending time with your housemates.

We occasionally have rooms open up. As of November 2023 we have the following becoming available:

Room #1 has an exterior entrance and is in one of the two main houses. It is 222sqft at $825 monthly rent plus $100 utilities (incl. internet), has its own bathroom, with bathtub, toilet and sink. Ideal if you like taking baths. Available now. You get to share a large kitchen with the other seven house mates, yet it rarely ever gets too busy in there.

Room #2 is 140sqft $700, plus $100 utilities (Internet included). It is located in one of the ADU’s which is shared between 3 people. The room shares two bathrooms, one with a shower+sink, and one with a toilet+sink, and a kitchen with the two other rooms/room mates and one friendly dog. Available as of early or middle of April.

Room #3 is 130sqft and $680 plus $100 utilities. It is located in one of the ADU’s which is shared between 3 people. The room shares a shower+sink and a toilet+sink, and a kitchen with the two other rooms. Available now.

Shared spaces are nicely furnished and kitchens are fully equipped with dishware, cookware, and espresso machines!

Due to allergies no pets in room #3 please. Otherwise ESA’s only. The lease is 1 year. Internet, shared household essentials, plus funds for a monthly community dinner included in the rent.

We are a low/no drama community and even though we enjoy the occasional dance party, we have quiet hours and the atmosphere here is generally very peaceful. We are looking for housemates that have the time and energy to contribute to community living. This means regularly attending our monthly community meeting, contributing 1 hour per month to work on a team, and doing your household chores. We value open and direct communication, people who clean up after themselves in the common areas, and generally like helping out. If that sounds like you, please reply to this ad and fill in this questionnaire:

Part of our interview process is a Zoom Meet and Greet in the first step and then an in person meeting. Please only apply if you can come to view in-person. Thanks for reading!

We are building our first communal house, peoples! The few of us, “the core”, are currently living in Putney, VT while we are beginning to build the first communal building this spring & summer. We’ve got the permits, we’ve got the equipment, we’ve got beauty all around – and we need people to share it all with and to co-create with!

We’re seeding a thriving global society that values individual and communal sovereignty, cooperation, and care for all life.
Our mission is to create an experimental center for the spread of a consent and wisdom based culture that promotes wise relationship and regeneration on all levels. We hope to cultivate compassionate capable leaders to help re-spark the communal living movement through modern and traditional practices in psychology, spirituality, nature connection, land tending, arts, apprenticeship education, and more. While we have not yet finalized specifically who will be living in these initial communities, we are looking to find and soon welcome many socially and emotionally skilled people to begin forming the embodied seed crystals of the culture we hope to nurture there. Eventually, when we have the resources to support them, we hope to begin welcoming people who have greater personal challenges around living and working in highly attuned small social groups.

Eventually, we envision creating 5 or more interdependent intentional communities on the land, each with 5 neighborhoods composed of roughly 5 pods, with about 5 adults in each pod, thus around 125 adults max per community. Regardless of the particular subculture within each, they will be supported in remaining in alignment first and foremost with the overall mission of supporting the rapid emergence of the more beautiful world our hearts know is possible.

We hold deep respect for the practices and cultural traditions of local and non-local indigenous peoples, such as cultivating gratitude and respect for all that is, living in reciprocal relationship with the earth, building a hand-crafted relationship with our shelters and clothing, and training in essential archaic life skills, first and foremost of those being learning to live and work together in beauty and harmony.

We are humbly holding the intention to develop a relationship with our local indigenous communities and find aligned ways to be of service, particularly to the Elnu-Abenaki tribe and other nearby Abenaki bands like possibly the Nolka clan and other clans of the Ko’asek band. We hope to have created some clarity, am open to answering any further questions, and welcome any feedback or assistance.

Mindful Earth Farm is the first Mindful Earth Alliance member farm. It is an evolving multi-family community located on a six-acre certified organic, biodynamic permaculture farm outside of Ashland Oregon. We are weaving a regenerative, playful and prayerful living environment where both our littles and our own inner-children can evolve in a heart-centered, village oriented container that is grounded in living abundance, food sovereignty and collaborative land stewardship.

We currently have seven people, including me and my 8 year old daughter, living on the farm as well as goats, chickens, bunnies, three dogs and a few cats.  Although the farm has worn many cash hats over the last ten years, from a market garden, to a hemp farm, a hemp seed breeding research facility, and most recently a heritage grain research farm, the more permanent aspects of the farm including the food forests and horticulture have continued to evolve despite historic droughts and high temperatures over the last couple of years. As the focus from agricultural production has lifted, Mindful Earth Farm is now expanding towards using the existing farm as a teaching facility. We currently offer classes and workshops in biodynamic and “bio-resonant” farming and natural building as well as Detox and Cleansing retreats, kirtan, song circles and African drumming, and Bio-Resonant Science classes and summer camps.

Due to the intimate nature of living in a small farm community, receiving a family with similar values, ethics and lifestyles is important to us.  Over the years we have crafted healthy community agreements as well as protocols for decision making and conflict resolution. As living documents these agreements will be revisited in regular scheduled community meetings and molded to best accommodate the needs and offerings of potential community members.

As the Mindful Earth Alliance takes on additional bio-resonant land stewardship properties, we will be looking for skilled farmers, artisans an crafts folk and to steward these properties as well.

Many different people have called 560 their home in its 20 years of life as a collective; you’d be hard-pressed not to find a stranger who has their own story about the place. And in that way, 560 has always had the power to turn strangers into friends. From weekly potlucks to basement shows, couch surfers to activists, there aren’t many lives that Five-Sixty hasn’t lived.

Me and Roberto have been working on this project for 3 years in the mountains of North Colombia. It’s 50 hectacres, which 40 are forest and bordered by mountain streams. A few hectacres of pasture, gardens and coffee too. It’s a lot of physical and financial work and we need help with getting this project going. We have made little progress ourselves, just surviving and maintaining so far and realize we need to grow our team/tribe/community if we plan to make it. Please contact me for more info

A Gathering of our Tribe of Spiritual Healers and Light Workers is a type of IC that could stretch out its reach internationally, creating “a” way to unify mankind’s efforts toward the healing and transformation of our world. Similar to the way people at ic.org do their work, this community could provide educational and resource assistance for those striving to heal themselves of the illusion of their separateness.

We seek to gather together our tribe comprised of Spiritual Healers and Light Workers who realize the importance of healing themselves and others of the illusion of separateness. Your partners in this effort are Daniel & Patti AngelsAgrarian, co-authors with The Great White Brotherhood of a book called: “From Separateness to True Self-Realization: A Transitional Guide Designed to Stimulate a Spiritual Revolution.” This is a free ebook available at https://www.kobo.com/us/en/ebook/from-separateness-to-true-self-realization-a-transitional-guide-designed-to-stimulate-a-spiritual-revolution.

We admit to having only elementary experience as communitarians, this being one of the important reasons why we need to undertake this task with Co-Founders. However, our contributions are important and valuable in a community, these being, since 1990, the preparations we have been making for spiritual, social, political, economic, and environmental changes to come. This inspired us to live as homesteaders a back-to-the-land and simple food and energy self-reliant lifestyle and prepare ourselves mentally, materially, and spiritually for the great changes that are coming. Through our research, we realize this is the direction that mankind needs to evolve if it wants to survive in the future.

Via mediation, study, and observation, we feel the days are upon us when humanity must transcend the illusion of his separateness and acquire the skills necessary to provide for himself in simple self-reliant community settings. For us to make this transition possible we realize the necessity of working with the spiritually minded in the capacity of Co-Founders of this community who strive together to actualize these goals. There is much for all of us to learn, but when we master these skills as seasoned communitarians, we can teach others how to do this as well. More is explained about this in the “Addition Comments” below.

To begin this process with us, please listen to what Yana Ludwig and Rebecca Mesritz shared during their podcast: Finding Co-Founders and Creating Cooperative Culture with Yana Ludwig (ic.org) located at https://www.ic.org/podcast-yana-ludwig/. We wrote an article that explains why we feel our efforts to find our Co-Founders are important to us and we could send this as an attachment in an email to you. When we correspond, we would appreciate it if those who listen to the above podcast and review our article would share with us your impressions and comments about them. We ask this of you because we feel this is the best way for us to get dialogue going on these important topics.

The Hopi advice for our gathering together in tribes can be read at: http://www.communityworks.info/hopi.htm Especially significant to us are the questions the Hopi asked…
“What are you doing? What are your relationships? Are you in right relation? Where are you living? Where is your water?” Also…”Know your garden”.

For years, we have been asking ourselves the same questions and we seek to connect with those who also have. We’re as prepared as anyone could be to respond positively to these questions. We intend to establish an embankment to grab hold of, where people who see the value of community may gather together when the rivers of change sweep us all downstream. And as the Hopi advised, we’re looking around to see who is floating downstream with us in hopes of making significant connections.

We’re serious about thriving in this time of uncertainty and have planned to help others do this as well. If you are like us, and you feel that these radical changes are upon us, then you have met the right people to talk to about this. We are doers, not talkers, and we want to join with others of like mind to assist us in Co-Founding this community. If you are serious about working with other Spiritual Healers and Light Workers toward these goals then take the next step and contact us to explore what we can co-create.

Belfast is a city of 7,000 people located in midcoast Maine between Camden and Bar Harbor. The city features an active waterfront and lively arts community and is the center of business, services, and government for the surrounding county. Traditional housing in the Belfast area falls into two main categories: in-town residential neighborhoods and rural, large-lot homesteads. Belfast Cohousing & Ecovillage is a community that combines the best elements of both types: located in a rural area with clustered housing and shared infrastructure, but working to preserve neighboring open land for wildlife, recreation, and farming, while fostering a close-knit, cooperative, and intentionally ecological way of life.

We are a group of roughly 70 people from many walks of life. We are business owners, educators, naturalists, gardeners, builders, farmers, health care providers, writers, musicians, and children. Our 42-acre community is located just two miles from Belfast’s downtown and harbor. We are within 1.5 miles of elementary, middle, and high schools, a YMCA, and grocery and retail stores.

All of our homes are highly energy-efficient, with triple-pane windows and doors, lots of insulation, and are oriented toward the sun. Two-thirds of the homes have solar systems, making them near net-zero for energy consumption. Personal garden plots are available, and we have a community orchard and high tunnel for winter greens. We also have a 3-acre worker share CSA farm on our property that is currently dormant, where neighbors have gathered to harvest veggies and maintain the land.

Our 4,000 sq ft common house has a living room, dining room, playroom, guest rooms, and root cellar. We enjoy weekly events including music, educational seminars, movies, games, potlucks and social gatherings.

Please visit our website for more information on visiting us or to learn more about the available homes. All the units are either owner-occupied or rented directly by the owner.

Tiny House/RV Village and Educational Center

The initiators of this community project, Daniel & Patti AngelsAgrarian, have been working on their homestead in developing it for our food and energy self-reliance since 1990 (see photos provided below). Both our homestead and an adjoining 8 acres have debt-free deeds and a year-round stream running through them. This listing is to announce that we are offering free land for Tiny House and RV lots on the adjoining 8 acres to those who establish this Tiny House/RV Village and Educational Center with us and others.

Villagers can form a land trust or another cooperative form of co-ownership with one another, and once this is done, we will donate the 8 acres to be integrated into the legal format that other ICs have used to organize the legal aspects of their communities. This may seem like a once-in-a-lifetime offer, but here is the catch, to enjoy this freebie at least six co-founders must organize themselves to take on this project together and do so in the spirit of building a sustainable community. They must agree to come together to co-found this village and organize themselves as communitarians.

The above problem is what will turn most people off about this project, they simply will not want to organize themselves as communitarians. This will be too time-consuming for most, as the majority of mankind wants nothing to do with that lifestyle. Additionally, many may not want to bother with all the work involved in developing their sites, let alone trying to bring together workable partnerships with others in the village. Most would rather rent a space somewhere already set up for them, as many other Tiny Houses communities are organized, so they would prefer to go that route.

This adjoining 8 acres freebie is available because the owners of it are occupied with their own IC initiation project as described at https://www.ic.org/directory/gathering-of-the-stewards/ Reviewing this other ic.org listing may help the reader gain insights into where we are coming from as people and why it is we are making the above offer. We do not have the time or energy to develop this land as a Tiny House/RV Village and Educational Center nor the individual sites so people can set up their self-contained Tiny Houses or RVs on them but know it needs to be done.

The above being said those interested in this opportunity are going to be able to benefit from the years of learning and labor we have done (since 1990) that have established a first-class food and energy self-reliant homestead. The reader must know this cannot be accomplished in the age we presently live in as it would be way too expensive to do and there isn’t a lot of time left before the machinery of our present culture collapses under the weight of its unsustainability. We only say this latter because people must get together on this while they can and it is still available.

Our advice to potential villagers is to find people with practical skills, such as in the building trades and other useful professions. Then work out how it is you can pay another to do things such as to establish and maintain your Tiny Houses or RVs. You may work out these arrangements with one another. The lots are located near a low-traffic gravel dead-end road that has power and phone lines running beside it. School buses also travel on this road, so the county keeps it well-maintained. High-speed Internet is available from Starlink with 100 Mbps download, and 10 to 20 uploads.

In addition, let us say that to live successfully in an IC setting with others requires everyone involved to educate themselves on how to live in cooperation with one another. That will be a huge challenge for most who have been initiated into the lone-wolf mentality that is encouraged by the predominant separative society. As IC founders, you will be confronted with the need to heal the social pitfalls that separateness generates in your IC. We realize this will be unfamiliar work for most as few know how to live an IC way of life, nor do they want to live that way with others.

For help in that task, a great deal of free and abundant educational resources are available at ic.org that will assist those who are willing to make the effort. To begin we suggest listening to “Ep 1: What is Community? Fantasy vs. Reality” which is available at https://www.ic.org/podcast/. What Rebecca relays about the “Default Community” compared to what she describes as an “Intentional Community” is a very helpful insight.

The habit of most who prefer the “default” form of community is to require that the IC initiators make living in a community easy for them and like what they were familiar with when they lived in the mainstream of society. These will want to continue to live as they were accustomed to as separate single and nuclear families and will want to interact with other Villagers in this way. They will refuse to put any energy into alternatives to this type of thinking, planning, and lifestyle. However, all villagers will need to realize that a functional and healthy Village cannot be co-created or maintained without everyone’s commitment to its success. We explain more about this in the “Additional ‘About your Community’ Comments” below titled “The Co-Founders’ Primer”.

Those who realize the truth of the above will not back away from the task. These will educate themselves on what are the sources of the many social, political, and environmental difficulties manifesting around the world to realize that these problems will take effort to transcend. Realistically, mature and sober people know a successful community takes hard work, and that everyone in an IC would need to endeavor to merge their efforts, ideals, and goals. These are the type of people that are suitable for your endeavor to form this village.

As we gather together our tribe, the Hopi Elders have offered their advice at: http://www.communityworks.info/hopi.htm. Especially significant are the questions they ask: “What are you doing? What are your relationships? Are you in the right relation? Where are you living? Where is your water?” Additionally, “Know your garden,” and “The time for the lone wolf is over.” Let the reader think about where one wants to be and with whom before the social, economic, environmental, and other shifts overtake one. It is better to choose the people we want to float downstream with now before your choices about who you could create your future with will become limited.

As the Hopi Elders have said: “You have been telling the people that this is the Eleventh Hour, now you must go back and tell the people that this is the Hour. And there are things to be considered.” The Hopi are pointing out how little time is left for humanity to continue living as we have been accustomed to. Therefore, we offer adaptive villagers the ability to meet the challenges of our changing times with us. Why not join your efforts with our own today? “We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.”

We have a lot to offer a group as we described above in wisdom and what we have established in our extensive food and energy self-reliant infrastructures (as shown in the photos provided below). We are willing to teach villagers how to do these things. We feel it is in our and those who join together as Co-Founders of your village, best interests to become proficient in developing these skills. Additionally, many hands make for easier and more efficient work. So, if you are attracted to merging your efforts with like-minded others then start up a dialogue with us.

Sacred Groves is a 10-acre Eco-Village situated on the traditional lands of the Suquamish peoples, on Bainbridge Island. This land hosts our residential community project, and is also an events space open to the wider community.

We offer a variety of ceremonies, circles and classes here at the Groves, inspired by our personal interests, training and gifts. All of them offered with the intention of connecting us to Spirit, opening our hearts, expanding our souls, getting our bodies outdoors on Mother Earth, and sharing authentically with a community of like-minded others. Some topics include grief work, seasonal rituals and celebrations, music/art/dance, nature connection, ancestor work, affinity group circles, work around the sacred feminine, and so much more.

Our residential community shares space together and works to re-weave the fibers of the village. We strive to show up for each other as we work to live a life more in balance with the living earth.

The Living Miracles Community began in 2009 in rural Utah, in the Strawberry River Canyon area. Today the community exists in the Strawberry River Canyon, Utah, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Chapala, Mexico.

This group of devoted brothers and sisters live simple devotional lives, hosting retreats, events, and devotional and prayer stays. They travel where invited to share gatherings that inspire and bless all who seek peace of mind and enlightenment.

Acknowledging that truth is in the Mind, these brothers and sisters offer an invitation to engage in the uncovering of the beliefs that seem to obstruct the awareness of Love’s Presence.

They meet with those who desire to discern between the ego’s thought system and the Holy Spirit’s purpose of forgiveness. The purpose of the gatherings remains unchanged: learning the Spirit’s purpose of forgiveness and awakening to Peace, Happiness, and Freedom.

They serve as mighty companions for each other and recognize that awakening is not a casual endeavor, but one that demands a deliberate and uncompromising commitment. The depth of devotion and faith reflect their willingness to question all assumptions. Total transformation of the mind is approached with passion and devotion and a burning desire from within. This is their unified goal and purpose.
