We’ve been talking for a while about FIC taking things to the next level, and this spring we have indeed taken off! Here’s just some of the news, from our fundraising area.
Crowdfunding for our Climate Disruption Initiative. There is still another week to support our work to bring community to the forefront of climate justice activism. The initiative includes FIC publishing two new books: Together Resilient: Building Community in the Age of Climate Disruption (which is available for pre-order) and The Cooperative Culture Handbook: Making Resilience Real, to be released later this year.
FIC’s first ever grant writing. We’ve already submitted two applications and plan to do 4-6 more by mid-summer. Grants are a new thing for us, and we hope to get funded to improve our website, make our climate work more accessible to low income communities, and continue the strategic planning and organizational re-invention process that we started in 2015. Our 2017 national speaking tour. We’re taking the message of community, cooperative culture and climate change on the road, starting this May. The tour has two purposes: it’s a great educational and publicity initiative with talks and workshops galore, and it helps us connect more closely with donors.

THANK YOU for being the wind beneath our wings!
