SUMMARY:Top 10 Facilitation Methods for Community Meetings
DESCRIPTION:Top 10 Facilitation Methods for Community Meetings\n\n\n\nWednesday January 7\, 2026\n\n\n\n\nPacific time: 10am-11am\n\n\n\nMountain time: 11am-12pm\n\n\n\nCentral time: 12pm-1pm\n\n\n\nEastern time: 1pm-2pm\n\n\n\n\nView your local time here. \n\n\n\n\nREGISTER NOW\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMeetings work best when they are facilitated through a variety of methods.  Experienced facilitator and educator\, Karen Gimnig\, will describe and demonstrate 10 of her favorites for leading community meetings. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the event\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nDo your members look forward to your community meetings or do they attend out of duty- or not at all?  Do your meetings engage and excite members or drag them along?  Do your meetings bring you closer together or just wear you down on important decisions?  One of the best ways to make meetings more enjoyable\, more engaging and more effective\, is to vary the methods you use for information sharing\, discussion and group processing.  \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nIn this one hour session\, Karen will do a quick review of her favorite meeting facilitation methods\, demonstrating each one as she goes.  Participants will get a taste of each method and a sense of how implementing a variety of them can shift the energy of a meeting.  \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nPlease note that Karen doesn’t actually recommend using 10 different methods in one hour for a real meeting.  This will be a fast paced presentation with partial group participation for the sake of demonstration.  Attendees are encouraged to try these methods at home\, allowing ample time and space for each.   \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nJoin us to see examples of rounds\, spectrums\, temperature checks and much more. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nIn this session\, you’ll learn about: \n\n\n\n\nVarying your facilitation methods\n\n\n\nSpectrum activities\n\n\n\nRounds\n\n\n\nContext building\n\n\n\n7 more great techniques\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout your presenter\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKaren Gimnig\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nKaren is a group facilitator\, motivational speaker and relationship coach. From secular to spiritual\, urban and rural\, forming and established — get a vibrant taste of the communities movement without leaving your armchair! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the Virtual Tour of Intentional Communities\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nWhat you get from the Virtual Tour experience: \n\n\n\n\nphotos\, videos\, captivating stories and insightful conversations\n\n\n\ndeeper insight into the lives of communitarians and the places they live\n\n\n\ninspiration to get you excited about your own community journey\n\n\n\ninformation about housing and membership opportunities\n\n\n\nnetwork building with presenters and fellow participants\n\n\n\na sense for what’s alive in the communities movement right now\n\n\n\nplenty of time for you to ask your burning questions about community living.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPresenting Community:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMama Moose – Bio\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nWe’re two humans\, Jennifer (57) and Robert (71)\, living on 57 acres of spruce\, pond\, loam\, brook and long winters in Aroostook County\, Maine. Together\, we’re listening to something that isn’t a plan but a field. We’re extending a quiet invitation to co-found a way of living rooted in stewardship\, mutual care\, and Earth-aligned rhythms. We call it Mama Moose for now\, but the true name is still becoming. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThis is not a commune\, retreat center\, or lifestyle brand. We’re not offering ease or escape. We’re tending a field of relational reckoning: with modernity\, with control\, with the habits of separation we’ve inherited. We’re looking for 1–4 people to join us in living and learning here for at least one season. The call isn’t for helpers or joiners\, it’s for co-weavers. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nHousing is simple and shared: an-old farmhouse with space for temporary or longer stays\, and land open to future dwellings. We have a well\, septic\, wood and oil heat\, and decent internet. We don’t yet have a fixed financial model. We co-create mutual agreements based on capacity and need. We welcome BIPOC kin\, LGBTQIA+ folks\, disabled dreamers\, spiritual misfits\, grief-holders\, and those drawn to let urgency form into intimacy. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nLEARN MORE \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Your Host\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCynthia Tina\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nCynthia helps people discover intentional community living for better housing\, health\, and happiness. SUMMARY:Cult or Community? The Line Between Control and Connection
DESCRIPTION:Cult or Community? \n\n\n\nThe Line Between Control and Connection\n\n\n\nThursday\, January 29\, 2026 \n\n\n\n\nPacific: 9:00am-11:00am\n\n\n\nMountain: 10:00am-12:00pm\n\n\n\nCentral: 11:00am-1:00pm\n\n\n\nEastern: 12:00pm- 2:00pm\n\n\n\n\nView your local time here. \n\n\n\n\nREGISTER NOW\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRenowned cult expert\, Dr. Steve Hassan\, and host of Cults I’d Join\, Jesse Stone\, join the FIC to discuss what differentiates healthy communities from coercive high-control groups. Explore the nuances and complexities that drive us toward belonging and how to practice discernment in the face of cults. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThe word cult is thrown around constantly—often as a joke\, sometimes as a warning\, and occasionally as a smear. Yet beneath the sensational headlines lies a deep set of questions about human psychology\, belonging\, identity\, and the structures that shape our lives in groups. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nWhat makes some communities transformative and supportive\, while others become manipulative or abusive? How can people tell the difference? And why\, despite the risks\, are so many of us still drawn to intense\, visionary\, or tightly bonded communities? \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nIn this candid discussion\, we bring together two influential voices approaching the topic from very different angles: Jesse Stone\, whose podcast Cults I’d Join explores the appeal and benefits of tight-knit group life and Dr. Steve Hassan\, founder of the Freedom of Mind Resource Center\, who is one of the world’s leading experts on cults\, undue influence\, and ethical leadership. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nModerated by Daniel Greenberg (FIC’s Director of Partnerships and Networking)\, this session will challenge assumptions\, unpack myths\, and invite a sincere dialogue exploring the blurry line between cooperation and coercion. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nIn this session\, you’ll learn: \n\n\n\n\nHow to distinguish between healthy group commitment and high-control dynamics\n\n\n\nCommon psychological mechanisms that make people vulnerable to influences of control\n\n\n\nWhy humans are wired for belonging—and how that impulse can be used for good or harm\n\n\n\nLessons ICs can learn from cult research to strengthen ethics and resilience\n\n\n\nWhat makes certain cults attractive\, meaningful\, or even “worth joining”\n\n\n\nPractical tools for critical thinking\, empowerment\, and safer group culture\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Your Presenters\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDr. Steve Hassan\n\n\n\nDr. Hassan is a licensed mental health professional\, a recognized expert on cults and undue influence\, and possesses professional experience both in the US and abroad. \n\n\n\nWith 49 years of experience\, Dr. Hassan’s expertise extends to the realm of undue influence in a wide array of contexts\, including destructive one-on-one relationships\, family dynamics\, parental alienation\, small cult-like groups\, religious cults\, therapy and self-improvement groups\, professional abuse\, institutional abuse\, corporate settings\, multi-level marketing\, political groups\, human trafficking\, hate and violent extremism\, deconstructing colonialism\, and other challenging situations. \n\n\n\nSteve possesses a unique perspective\, having experienced life as a former cult member who was successfully deprogrammed in 1976\, and as a clinical professional who has dedicated his life to aiding others in similar situations. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJesse Stone\n\n\n\nDown in the Ozarks\, Jesse Stone lives and loves with her young son Solace\, two dogs\, and two cats. Jesse is an artist\, writer\, and maker\, and has lived her life immersed in the wide variety of subcultures. Sharing these experiences through art and storytelling is her passion.  \n\n\n\nJesse has a long history of living in community\, culty and otherwise\, from her youngest years and at all points since. Through her podcast\, Cults I’d Join\, she asks important questions like: What draws us to community? What prompts us to leave? What is the depth of experience in between? What makes a group “good” or “bad\,” and will anyone else join all these cults with her? (Spoiler alert: Jesse would join them all)… \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLocation\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nYou’ll get a Zoom link after you register in your confirmation email. SUMMARY:Your Next Step Towards an Abundant Economy
DESCRIPTION:Your Next Step Towards an Abundant Economy \n\n\n\nFriday\, February 20\, 2026 \n\n\n\n\nPacific: 11am-12pm\n\n\n\nMountain: 12pm-1pm\n\n\n\nCentral: 1pm-2pm\n\n\n\nEastern: 2pm-3pm\n\n\n\n\nView your local time here. \n\n\n\n\nREGISTER NOW\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLearn how you can take the next step towards an abundant economy through a creative and personalized life design with business consultant and worker-owner of LIFT Economy\, Erin Axelrod. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the event\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nWhen we use the word “economy”\, we mean the strategies our society collectively uses to access or acquire goods and services. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nIn our current capitalist economic model\, the individual is forced to rely on the exchange of currency to meet most or all of their needs and typically spends most of their lives working to generate just enough currency to meet those basic needs. This model perpetuates scarcity\, fear\, and a disempowered dependence on systems that lack care and devalue cooperation. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThe good news is- there’s another way! \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nDuring this interactive webinar\, Erin will focus on financial resilience\, teaching participants how to creatively develop practical and personalized next steps to designing a life that leads to abundance and meaningful connections. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nWhether you live alone\, in a rural or urban intentional community\, or in cohousing- Erin’s “Next Step” resource will meet you where you are\, and help you map out your next step towards an abundant economy. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThese resources are a part of the 6-month online Next Economy Living program that teaches strategies for crafting a life that provides for your needs while being in deep alignment with cooperative values and community-building. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThe program takes a deep dive into important areas of your life design like personal health and wellbeing\, food\, water & energy\, financial resilience\, education & media engagement\, civic participation\, relationships\, travel\, entertainment\, experiences\, education\, housing\, and relationship to materials\, resources and waste.  \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nIn this session\, you’ll learn about:\n\n\n\n\nSteps that you can take now to practice communal sharing of resources\, even if you live independently\n\n\n\nCreative ideas of how to build mutual aid networks from where you are\n\n\n\nConnection with others on this path and supportive conversation to identify your personal next steps\n\n\n\nA detailed map of creative ideas to help you identify your next step towards a new economy\n\n\n\nInspiring case stories of personal life design choices others have made that generated positive benefits for their quality of life and connection to purpose\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout your presenter\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nErin Axelrod\n\n\n\nlifteconomy.com \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nErin Axelrod is a business consultant and worker-owner at LIFT Economy where she works with clients and facilitates a 9-month online learning journey called the Next Economy MBA\, with 800+ alumni. She is a co-facilitator of the Next Economy Living program focused on personal life design for building liberatory communities of practice to escape from the traps of the business as usual economy. She co-founded the $1.1MForce for Good Fund\,  The Next Egg\, and works with clients all over the country including Jonas Philanthropies & Winona’s Hemp & Heritage Farm.  Erin lives and works in unceded ohlone territory with her partner\, 2-year old daughter in an extended multi-family household and tends to sheep and a small herd of dairy goats. When not working\, she enjoys time with her family tending the land\, growing mushrooms\, planting trees\, solar-cooking and harvesting & growing wild foods to make nutrient-dense foods for her friends. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThe LIFT team has spent over ten years working with more than 250 social enterprises and organizations that are growing the Next Economy\, many of which are led by founders and entrepreneurs dedicated to this question of – how do I LIVE in a way that embodies my values and meets my needs? Outside of their work at LIFT Economy\, their team has coached thousands of individuals about personal living choices that can dramatically enhance personal wellbeing\, financial resilience and contribute meaningfully to solving societal challenges. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLocation\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nYou’ll get the Zoom link after you register in your confirmation email. It starts with understanding yourself—what you truly need\, what you’re longing for\, and what you’re able and willing to offer in return. This workshop is designed to help you take that essential first step. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nTogether\, we’ll explore a grounded process for assessing your needs\, strengths\, skills\, and relational capacities so you can move toward community life with clarity rather than projection or fantasy. You’ll learn how to identify what “belonging” actually means for you\, what qualities make a community a good match\, and how to communicate who you are in honest\, useful ways. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nBy the end\, you’ll create a preliminary letter to your future community—a simple but powerful tool that helps you articulate your vision\, your gifts\, and your fit. Whether you’re just beginning to explore intentional community or you’re already searching for your people\, this workshop offers a clear\, supportive foundation for the path ahead. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThis is a practical and beginner-friendly workshop—an invitation to engage in your community journey with honesty\, spaciousness\, and a clearer sense of who you are and where you belong. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThis workshop is for you if: \n\n\n\n\nYou’re curious about intentional community but don’t know where to begin.\n\n\n\nYou want to understand what kind of environment\, culture\, or structure would genuinely be a good fit.\n\n\n\nYou’re unsure how to introduce yourself to communities or what they might be looking for\n\n\n\nYou want support discerning whether you’re ready for a deeper commitment or simply wanting to “date” community right now—and how to meet your needs through either phase.\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nIn this session\, you’ll gain: \n\n\n\n\nA personalized needs and skills assessment\n\n\n\nClarity about what you’re seeking and what you can offer\n\n\n\nInsight into how communities evaluate fit and alignment\n\n\n\nA draft of your introduction letter  to the community of your dreams\n\n\n\nA realistic\, empowered sense of your next steps\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Your Presenter\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLee Warren\n\n\n\nqueenofdeath.org \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nLee is a devoted community builder\, delighted by community in all its shapes\, sizes\, and intentions. Her life purpose is to provide leadership in the building of community in accessible\, natural\, and deeply human ways. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nTo that end\, she is committed to reweaving the cosmologies and regenerating the cultural wisdom that allow us all to return to the village. The village\, as Lee uses the term\, is a metaphor for the collaborative\, relational way of living that repairs historical damage and creates coherence\, belonging\, and shared purpose. Cultural repair looks like conscious relating—to self\, to land\, to dying\, to living\, and to one another. As we return to the village\, we cultivate supportive and inclusive systems that tend to the whole\, including the more-than-human world. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nLee is also the author of the forthcoming book Dying Together: The Art of Community Death Care—A Village-Inspired Guide to Belonging at the End of Life\, which explores how communal\, embodied\, and relational approaches to dying can transform both individuals and culture. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLocation\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nYou’ll get a Zoom link after you register in your confirmation email. In this webinar\, we’ll discuss how to achieve value alignment and what to do when we discover we are misaligned.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the event\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nIt’s easy to say we want to live in a community of like-minded people. Getting there is harder. True alignment is entangled with the reality that we are all individuals and there will always be differences between us.  \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nIn this webinar\, we’ll talk about how much alignment we need to live well together\, and how to get there. From clear complex conversations to rigorous membership processes\, we’ll discuss strategies for finding\, building and maintaining alignment\, and for knowing when you don’t have it. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nIn this session\, you’ll learn about:\n\n\n\n\nHow to choose and name your community values\n\n\n\nMembership practices that support values alignment\n\n\n\nSome common practices that don’t work\n\n\n\nHow to determine whether your community values are still your community values\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout your presenter\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKaren Gimnig\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nkarengimnig.net \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nKaren is a group facilitator\, motivational speaker and relationship coach. SUMMARY:Why Conflict Escalates and How to Interrupt It
DESCRIPTION:Why Conflict Escalates and How to Interrupt It: A Mind/Body Approach \n\n\n\nWednesday\, March 25\, 2026 \n\n\n\n\nPacific time: 2pm-3pm\n\n\n\nMountain time: 3pm-4pm\n\n\n\nCentral time: 4pm-5pm\n\n\n\nEastern time: 5pm-6pm\n\n\n\n\nView your local time here. \n\n\n\n\nREGISTER NOW\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe root cause of conflict escalation lives in the story of our nervous system. Lux Gypsum\, Somatic Experiencing practitioner\, explains the physiological\,  mind/body\, and cultural context of how conflict escalates into rupture when we react instead of respond. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the event\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nAn introductory workshop for anyone who’s found themselves saying\, “We know better—so why did this conversation go so badly?” \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nWhen conflict comes up\, conversations can quickly get heated and lead to escalation rather than resolution. Even with good intentions and communication skills\, we can easily slip into defensiveness\, people-pleasing\, or shutdown. This workshop helps you understand why that happens\, and what you can do about it. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nWhy is it that we can be so eager to show up better in conflict\, but still fall into familiar patterns of defense\, accommodation\, or avoidance? What’s getting in the way of us being who we want to be in our community relationships? If we know better\, why can’t we do better? The answer lies in the stories your body holds. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nOur reflexive reactions to conflict are deeply influenced by our nervous systems and the cultural context that shaped them. In this workshop\, we will explore how our societal and cultural inheritance contributes to our body’s experience of conflict as a threat\, often causing us to react to conflict in ways that are self-protective and disconnecting\, even when we want to connect and repair.. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThis workshop takes a very different approach to conflict than a traditional communication workshop.  Instead of trying to fix your communication with top-down (mind to body) strategies like nonviolent communication\, this workshop will help you access more grace and choice within conflict by helping you understand how conflict operates from the bottom-up (body to mind). \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThrough a combination of teaching\, discussion\, and gentle somatic practices\, you will expand your sense of compassion and your capacity to stay connected—to yourself and to others—when it matters most \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nIn this session\, you’ll learn about:\n\n\n\n\nThe root of reactive dynamics that turn conflict from a hard conversation into a deep rupture\n\n\n\nHow the nervous system shows up in conflict\, and how this impacts our ability to respond\n\n\n\nHow the dominant culture influences our nervous systems and shapes patterns in conflict\n\n\n\nWhat your go-to conflict response style is and how it is both serving you and holding you back\n\n\n\nThe practice of pausing and noticing your body to interrupt cycles of escalation in conflict\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout your presenter\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLux Gypsum\n\n\n\nhealingrising.com \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nLux Gypsum (all pronouns) is a queer\, non-binary politicized healer\, relational educator\, and cultural visionary. The villa was originally built by Liz’s parents over more than 20 years\, and today carries the imprint of family\, continuity\, and care. Rather than being created as a “project\,” La Vita Sukha has grown organically from lived experience – responding to real needs\, limits\, and rhythms over time. \n\n\n\nLiz’s background spans permaculture design\, yoga\, bodywork\, and retreat hosting\, alongside many years working creatively as a music producer and artist. These threads come together in how the space is held: with attention to flow\, rhythm\, and sustainability – not only ecologically\, but emotionally and relationally as well. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nAt its heart\, La Vita Sukha remains committed to the formation of a long-term intentional community: one rooted in regeneration\, shared stewardship of land\, and ways of living that respond thoughtfully to the social and ecological challenges of our time. At the same time\, Liz is consciously allowing this vision to unfold without pressure\, urgency\, or idealization. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nLEARN MORE \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Your Host\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCynthia Tina\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nCynthia Tina is the author of Intentional Community: Choosing Community Living for Better Housing\, Health\, and Happiness. SUMMARY:Reimagining Cooperative Futures through West African Storytelling
DESCRIPTION:Reimagining Cooperative Futures through West African Storytelling\n\n\n\nTuesday April 21\, 2026\n\n\n\n\nPacific time: 9am-11am\n\n\n\nMountain time: 10am-12pm\n\n\n\nCentral time: 11am-1pm\n\n\n\nEastern time: 12pm-2pm\n\n\n\n\nView your local time here. \n\n\n\n\nREGISTER NOW\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin an experiential workshop to reimagine cooperative futures by taking a meditative journey through the past. Guided by community-builder Shanika Malcolm and inspired by West African storytelling. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the event\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nImagining our future often starts with journeying through the past. In the Ghanaian Akan culture of West Africa\, this journey is called Sankofa — a symbol and principle that means “to return and retrieve what was lost”\, reminding us that we must look back in order to move forward with wisdom. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nIn this workshop\, we will reimagine cooperative futures as a creative and necessary exercise for community-building. Cross-cultural community-builder and storyteller Shanika Malcom will guide participants through an imaginative and meditative journey through the past and into the future. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nWe will explore how colonization\, capitalism\, and cultural disconnection have shaped modern community structures and how remembering ancestral ways of cooperation can inform more inclusive\, regenerative futures.  \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nTogether we will think\, move\, discuss\, and challenge ourselves to discover what it means to dream and build our future across differences and with relational integrity. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThrough guided reflection\, breakout conversations\, and meditation\, participants will: \n\n\n\n\nExamine how we arrived at our current models of community\n\n\n\nReflect on what cultural knowledge may have been severed or silenced\n\n\n\nImagine cooperative futures rooted in belonging\, diversity\, and shared stewardship\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nAs the intentional community movement evolves\, Sankofa invites us to deepen the work and build futures that are not only sustainable\, but culturally conscious. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThis session is an opportunity to strengthen the foundation of cooperative community through remembrance and reimagination. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout your presenter\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nShanika Malcolm\n\n\n\nwww.shanikaheals.com \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nShanika Malcolm is a community builder\, facilitator\, and writer dedicated to reimagining cooperative futures through cultural remembrance and regenerative design. She is the founder of Revibe\, an initiative exploring village-based living\, intentional community\, and ecological stewardship in Colombia. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nWith a background in circle facilitation\, storytelling\, and cross-cultural community work\, Shanika bridges ancestral wisdom and contemporary cooperative models. Her work centers cultural repair\, belonging\, and inclusive leadership as essential foundations for sustainable intentional communities. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nShe has facilitated community circles\, retreats\, and educational programs focused on healing\, cooperation\, and regenerative futures. Through Sankofa-informed practice\, she invites participants to look back with honesty and forward with imagination. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nYou can read more about her powerful personal journey — through grief\, birth\, healing\, survival\, and visioning the matriarchal future — in her published chapter in the book: Rebel Ma – Leading in the Time of the Feminine. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLocation\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nYou’ll get the Zoom link after you register in your confirmation email. SUMMARY:Relational Integrity Framework: Staying Connected Through Difference
DESCRIPTION:Relational Integrity Framework: Staying Connected Through Difference\n\n\n\nFriday April 24\, 2026\n\n\n\n\nPacific time: 11am-1pm\n\n\n\nMountain time: 12pm-2pm\n\n\n\nCentral time: 1pm-3pm\n\n\n\nEastern time: 2pm-4pm\n\n\n\n\nView your local time here. \n\n\n\n\nREGISTER NOW\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin embodiment and relationship coach\, Roberto Rodriguez\, for an introduction to the Relational Integrity Framework and learn how to stay connected through difference. For group leaders\, facilitators\, community-builders\, or anyone wanting to increase their relational skills.  \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the event\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThere’s more at play when building relationships than the naked eye can see. Visible and invisible dynamics influence the structure of our shared realities. When we become aware of these forces\, we can navigate them more intentionally\, increasing our connection and our ability to relate with integrity. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nIn this 2-hour introductory and highly interactive workshop\, participants will learn the basics of the Relational Integrity Framework with relationship educator-coach and group facilitator Roberto Rodriguez. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThe Relational Integrity Framework draws from living systems theory\, Indigenous cosmology\,  liberation pedagogy\, somatic psychology\, and depth psychology.  \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThe framework helps us to map the complex structural realities our relationships exist within while training our capacity to remain connected\, adaptive and generative across differences so that shared-meaning and collective sense-making can take root. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nTogether we will think\, move\, discuss\, and challenge ourselves to discover what it means to dream and build our future across differences and with relational integrity. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nWe will explore: \n\n\n\n\nThe 4 levels of relational integrity: personal\, interpersonal\, systemic\, and transpersonal (or “more-than-human”)\n\n\n\nThe importance of and how to sense the  “field”\n\n\n\nThe structural dynamics that influence our relationships\, how they limit our ability to relate\, and how to work with them\n\n\n\nThe language of archetypal and symbolic patterns\, how they show up in our relations\, and how to work with them for a sense of shared-meaning while honoring complexity\n\n\n\nThe elements of “mapping” a group process/dynamic while considering appropriate “pacing”\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nWithout an aim of finding answers or drawing conclusions\, Roberto will lead participants through multi-sensory learning to “wrestle” with the basic concepts of the Relational Integrity Framework through dyad\, small group\, and whole group practices. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThe Relational Integrity Framework can be used by group facilitators\, leaders\, community-builders\, and anyone who wants to improve their relational skills. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nIf you are interested in experiencing how Roberto teaches and works with the Relational Integrity Framework in-person\, check out the Goodenough Community’s annual Summer Gathering event in Northwestern Washington (June 9-14\, 2026). We would love to see you there! \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout your presenter\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRoberto Rodriguez\n\n\n\nwww.robertorodrguez.live \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nRoberto is a relationship educator-coach\, group facilitator\, and body-centered practitioner whose work is grounded in decades of engagement with embodiment\, relationship\, and collective care. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nShaped by early experiences of violence\, disruption\, and systemic injustice\, his path has been guided by a commitment to repair\, responsibility\, and what he calls relational integrity: the capacity to show up with awareness and care in the systems we belong to. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nDrawing from embodied disciplines such as martial arts\, dance\, Tai Chi\, and Qi Gong\, alongside depth-oriented psychological and community-based practices\, Roberto supports individuals and groups in listening more deeply to themselves\, to one another\, and to the subtle signals shaping group life. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nHe is a founding team member of The Affinity-Belonging Initiative and continues to work at the intersection of personal healing\, relational skill\, and collective transformation. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nTo learn more about Roberto’s work\, visit his website: www.robertorodrguez.live \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLocation\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nYou’ll get the Zoom link after you register in your confirmation email. SUMMARY:How to Tend a Culture of Belonging
DESCRIPTION:How to Tend a Culture of Belonging\n\n\n\nTuesday May 19\, 2026\n\n\n\n\nPacific time: 10am-12pm\n\n\n\nMountain time: 11am-1pm\n\n\n\nCentral time: 12pm-2pm\n\n\n\nEastern time: 1pm-3pm\n\n\n\n\nView your local time here. \n\n\n\n\nREGISTER NOW\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLearn practical skills to help you nourish belonging anywhere people gather\, in this 2-hour workshop co-led by communitarians\, grief-tenders\, and song-carriers Grisha Stewart and Sabrina Simon.  \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the event\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nIn a fragmented world\, so many of us are searching for belonging. We enter communities\, gatherings\, and workplaces hoping for genuine connection. We yearn to truly belong but all too often we find ourselves settling for “fitting in”. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nTrue belonging is different. It means being welcomed as you are\, having your gifts recognized\, feeling known\, and being missed when you’re gone. Your presence actually shapes the group. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nBelonging doesn’t just happen– it’s something we create together through relational skills that are often overlooked in a culture that prizes individualism over community. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThe good news? These practical skills are easy to learn! \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nIn this 2-hour interactive workshop\, you’ll learn practical tools to “tend to kinship” — to intentionally care for the quality of connection between everyone in a group and in the greater picture of us all. You’ll develop sharper awareness of what’s really happening beneath the surface of a community\, and leave with concrete skills you can apply anywhere. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nYou’ll walk away knowing how to: \n\n\n\n\nRead the deeper dynamics of a group and notice what’s helping people feel connected\, or creating distance\n\n\n\nTake personal and collective responsibility for tending to belonging\, rather than leaving it to chance\n\n\n\nIncrease accessibility and inclusion in ways that are easy to miss\n\n\n\nSet realistic expectations\, recognize your limits\, and treat mistakes as part of the process\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThese tools come from the Kinship Tending Skills for Belonging framework\, created by Grisha Stewart\, communitarian and founder of the virtual folk school\, Stellar Village. Kinship Tending Skills can be used by every and anyone seeking to tend belonging and greater connection in community settings. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThe framework is also used to train facilitators and Kinship Tending crews for gatherings and events. If you’d like to see their work in action\, bring your voice and curiosity to the Cascadia Song Rise community singing campout in Oregon\, where Kinship Tending crews provide support for inclusivity\, care\, and belonging. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout your presenters\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGrisha Stewart\, MA\, KPACTP\, CPDT-KA\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nGrisha is a neurosparkly community weaver\, dog trainer\, author\, inventor\, international keynote speaker\, song leader\, part of the Singing Insistance\, and a prolific song catcher. She is interested in behavior\, learning\, body awareness\, connection between species\, spirituality\, and psychology. Her work focuses on collective thrival. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nGrisha’s superpower is operationalizing skillsets (i.e.\, being really specific about how to do useful things). She’s developed two frameworks for relational skills: Behavior Adjustment Training (BAT) for dog reactivity and the Kinship Tending Skills for belonging. She is also the founder of the Grisha Stewart Academy for dog behavior education and the Stellar Village Folk School\, an online space to explore the technologies of belonging. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nAs an outgoing introvert\, she recharges by singing\, sharing feelings with others\, resting\, and enjoying life with her husband\, three dogs\, a cat\, and a forest full of beings in the Siuslaw watershed of Western Oregon. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSabrina Simon\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nSabrina is the Programs Director for the Foundation for Intentional Community and a natural community web-weaver with a background in nonprofit leadership\, community organizing\, and facilitation. She strongly believes that community-building is no longer an option during these times of extreme polarization\, oppression and disconnection. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nSabrina weaves her diverse background in yoga\, grief-tending\, community singing\, bodywork\, and ritual to help build greater collective capacity to identify\, presence\, and release isolating emotions like anger\, shame\, and grief. She believes that the work of healing our collective trauma is integral to building cooperative systems and most effectively done in community. She is loyal to upholding a posture of curiosity for humanity\, frequently inquiring with her personal mantras: “What are we not seeing?” and “How do we work with this?” \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nShe is currently on a global tour of intentional communities\, filming and documenting their stories of challenge\, experimentation\, and success in order to increase the spread of ideas for systems change and the sense of solidarity in this work. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLocation\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nYou’ll get the Zoom link after you register in your confirmation email.
