About this Workshop

Now more than ever, predominantly white intentional communities (ICs) are recognizing how they perpetuate racism and white supremacy, and are looking for ways to change. What does this look like in practice? During this workshop, we will continue the conversation and present case studies of practical ways ICs can change their systems and culture to become more inclusive and accessible. We will also focus on how to respond to incidents and accusations of racism in ICs. Finally, we’ll explore ways we can integrate the practice of being anti-racist, as individuals and as communities, in an ongoing and sustainable way. This workshop is open to anyone and is geared towards people living in predominantly white intentional communities.

We will focus on:
  • How to make your community more inclusive and accessible
  • How to respond to instances of racism or address racist systems in your community
  • How to integrate anti-racism work into your daily life
