Why Do Intentional Communities Matter?
Intentional communities are places where the transition to a cooperative, just, and sustainable society is often accelerated and deeply practiced, and where the benefits can be seen and articulated. Intentional communities are one player in a much larger, global movement towards cooperative culture. The Communities Conference is place to learn about intentional communities and cooperative culture, and is designed to provide a community experience. And, itis fun! Good food, a dance party, sweat
lodge, river, and lots of hammocks.
Propose A Workshop! ― Deadline Extended to June 7th
We are looking for dynamic presenters who can offer interactive and/or engaging workshops. Workshop blocks are usually 1.5 or 2 hrs.
The focus of the event is intentional communities, although workshops sometimes cover a broader array of topics in cooperative and alternative lifestyles, economics, and organizing. If the workshop is not specific to intentional communities the presenter will be expected to address the topic in relation to intentional communities.
Presenters are encouraged to participate in the whole weekend. Registration fees are waived and camping is the standard accommodation; indoor accommodations are available for a fee.
Deadline for workshop proposals was May 31st but has been extended to June 7th. Please fill out the form here.
