Studio Available in Two Acre Wood Cohousing, Sebastopol CA

by Damien
Land + Real Estate
696 Robinson Rd, Sebastopol, CA
We are seeking a community-minded individual to rent the studio on the second floor of our house.                                   The house is in the Two Acre Wood Co-Housing community, which is about a 15-minute walk from downtown Sebastopol, CA. The studio, which includes a bathroom/shower, full closet, and small kitchenette, is available immediately. Our ideal roommate will be an excellent communicator, neat, and comfortable interacting with a family, including children and a dog (we have a two-year-old old daughter and 10-year-old border collie mix that live on the first floor with us). The rental space has its own bathroom and kitchenette, but the entrance is through the main house.

The upstairs studio is a new space that was just finished in March as an addition to our house. This community of fourteen households includes a shared common house, gardens, fruit trees, woods, and weekly shared meals, all of which are available to a renter. The studio for rent is a cozy unfurnished space accessed by a spiral staircase from our living room. The kitchenette has a two burner induction range, a medium sized convection/microwave oven, and an apartment sized refrigerator. The studio has a hydronic baseboard heater with its own thermostat. Washer and dryer easily available next door for $1.25 per load. Full commercial sized kitchen in common house occasionally available for use if desired. We have spent years living in shared households and are looking forward to finding the right fit to join us in our home. We are in our 30s/40s and have a relaxed lifestyle, enjoying spending many of our evenings and weekends at home. During the weekday Damien is an Ecological Landscaping Designer, and Maggie is a Communications Manager at the County of Sonoma. We are vegan and love time in nature, cooking with lots of spices, meditating, and discovering new poetry.

If you are interested in the room, please send us an email with the answers to the following questions:
(1) What kind of experience do you have living in community?
(2) How comfortable are you living around small children?
(3) What are you like as a housemate (quiet/social/fun/thoughtful/energetic, etc.)?

Rent is $1,100 per month plus $65 for all utilities with a $1,600 security deposit due by the end of the first month.
