If you are looking for seasonal job that allows you to get away from the usual commercial food service grind then you might want to check us out.

The Sahale Learning Center is seeking an experienced full time cook to help us get through our busy guest season that will run from Middle August until the third week of October. If this is a good fit the possibility of you returning next year in the spring would exist.

This position entails assisting the chef with up to three meals a day with one day off during the week.We generally serve between 30 and 70 people during our guest season but sometimes there will be more or fewer. You would not be working all day however with breaks as needed. Duties would include meal prep, organizing the cooler, and helping keep the kitchen clean and sanitary among other things. Depending on your experience you would have the opportunity to be creative within the menu structure.

The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, be clean , organized, and able to work well on a team. You would be often working and help direct volunteers so patience and the enjoyment of teaching others is a must.

Sahale is located in a beautiful rural setting on 64 acres on the Tahuya River near Belfair, Wa. We are looking for people who value strong and honest communication and respect for others. Those values are a must. Due to housing limitations you would probably be living outside in a comfortable tent platform some of the time so that is something candidates would have to consider . Pay would be commensurate with experience and room and board would be included.

Sahale offers a unique experience that may not work for some but for others working and living here would be an experience you would value forever.
If all of this appeals to you please contact us and we can start an interview process that would hopefully entail you visiting us and working with us soon.
