ONE-BEDROOM APARTMENT OR TINY HOUSE FOR RENT

Two rentals will shortly be available: Lower level apartment in private house and a tiny house

APARTMENT

Approximately 700 sq ft. Small kitchen with quartz and wood counter tops, electric stove and 36-inch fridge, with island, tile back splash and built-in microwave. There is no dishwasher. Bathroom with vessel sink, and living room with picture window looking out to amazing short and long-range mountain views. Bedroom windows has same view as well as a walk-in closet, and there is another storage closet as well as your own laundry with washer and dryer in place. The rent includes WiFi (high speed), spring water on tap with whole-house filter, and trash pickup. Electric bill is the only one that increases according to use, so that is shared. Rent $800/month.

TINY HOUSE

Larger than the typical tiny house at 432 sq ft plus two lofts not counted in square footage. One loft is larger, typically used as a bedroom and the other can be used as storage. Full kitchen with full-sized appliances except fridge is a little smaller than usual and there is no dishwasher. Bathroom with tub, shower and washer/dryer/ Beautiful long and short-range mountain view. Rent includes filtered spring water on tap. Renter is responsible for electricity, internet and trash pickup. Rent $650/month.

PROPERTY

Both rentals are on a very private, 3.5-acre property that is almost end-of-road so no traffic going by. Beautiful mountain and pasture views surrounded by woods and a stream. Three miles from Exit 49A off I-26, super convenient (<10 min) to all the big stores (Ingles, Walmart, Lowes, etc) and about 15 minutes to the Hendersonville Coop.

COMMUNITY

We currently have chickens for eggs and bees for honey, and future plans may include a couple of goats for milk and/or fiber. We also have a vegetable garden and some fruit trees. We have had some great people over the past few years, but the current residents are moving on. I am looking for some like-minded folk who want to participate in those activities, who would enjoy both the responsibilities as well as the benefits (eggs, cheese, honey, veggies, herbs, fruit, community, cooperation, etc.) I am open to other projects and interests you might want to bring to the table. I have only two unconditional criteria: that everything be sustainable and humane. If you have handyman skills I am also open to an exchange for partial rent reduction if that interests you. This place has functioned as a sort of mini intentional community, and if you like that sort of thing and have a cooperative spirit, you’re probably a good fit. If you have animals we would need to make sure they fit in with the plans (no chicken-eating dogs!) I live upstairs in the main house with my little mutt Cooper. I am in my 60s and very laid back, fair, and easy to get along with. I am big on sustainability, recycling, composting, good communication, kindness, diversity, and all that good stuff.

Available around mid July. Length of lease can be discussed. Max 2 people in each rental. If this setup sounds appealing to you, please write me and tell me a bit about yourself and what you’re looking for. I am particularly interested I how you would like to participate in what I’m offering. Looking forward to hearing from you.
