Join a Green, Intergenerational Cohousing Community near Sacramento!

WE’RE NEARLY SOLD OUT – only 8 homes remain!

Fair Oaks EcoHousing is a multi-generational group of households planning to build an earth-friendly cohousing community near Sacramento. We’re actively looking for others who share our vision to join us. We’re building our community of 30 homes starting this Spring!

Imagine Yourself Living Here:
A pedestrian-friendly village: a supportive environment where neighbors know and care about each other, with values of respect, cooperative and fun
An environmentally-friendly neighborhood: energy efficient homes, organic gardens, lots of open space and a centrally-located clubhouse
Many home options available: the 3.7 acre site will consist of 30 townhomes and flats with two to four bedrooms
Ideal location: Less than one mile from the American River Parkway, Fair Oaks Village, Bannister Park, Sacramento Waldorf School and Rudolf Steiner College

What is Fair Oaks like?
Fair Oaks is located in Sacramento County, with a population just under 31,000. To the south is the beautiful American River, bordered by the American River Parkway bike path: a 23 mile, 4900 acre expanse of land and water deemed the “jewel of Sacramento” that runs from Old Sacramento to Folsom Dam. (And yes, there are community members who plan on commuting by bike!) Fair Oaks is located only 18 miles east of the Sacramento downtown cultural mecca. Additionally, Fair Oaks EcoHousing is only minutes from the Sacramento Waldorf School. Being located on the eastern side of the valley provides easy access to the Sierra Foothills, with ample opportunities for hiking, skiing, rafting and kayaking. View more location details here.

Fair Oaks has a small town feel and a lively arts scene. Located in Old Fair Oaks Village, the town center houses the Plaza Park Amphitheater, where residents look forward to the yearly Fair Oaks Theatre Festival. Home to over 125-acres of parkland, green space is celebrated locally. Winters are mild here.

Why EcoHousing?
Fair Oaks EcoHousing’s vision of sustainability guides our construction goals. Being a “green community” means striving for the lowest possible energy bills, focusing on natural light, providing excellent ventilation flow, using non-toxic materials, sustainably grown lumber, biodegradable flooring, solar-ready and much more. We’re pleased to be working with Charles Durrett of McCamant & Durrett Architects and Katie McCamant of CoHousing Solutions, both leaders in environmental sustainability.
