Family of 5 interested in connecting with community

by Courtney Gandara
Seeking Community

Hello! My name is Courtney and I’m a 30 year old mama of 3. My husband and I are looking to take the next step to align with our vision of living more sustainably, and in community with like-hearted souls on a similar path, and are curious about the opportunities that may be available.

We’re feeling called to head West from Texas to connect with the land in Colorado, California, Oregon, and Hawaii, and are hoping to connect with existing ecovillages/communities that have housing for rent, work exchange, or other/alternative forms of exchange for housing. We’re looking for private housing, somewhere that we would be able to call home anywhere from 2 days to 6+ months, and the ability to establish long term roots would be even sweeter. We’ll be making our way West during the month of August and hope to settle into a home where we stay from September-December (minimum).

We’re interested in getting hands on experience with sustainable practices, permaculture, community living, gardening, caring for animals, tending the land, etc. and my husband is a hard worker who enjoys physical labor and learning new trades.

I’m a certified reiki facilitator, as well as a circle leader with the Wild Woman Project (New Moon ceremonies), and envision weaving this work into my community, so if that’s something that can support the whole of the community I’d be happy to see how this may fit.

We will be homeschooling our children(13, 9, and almost 4), and are a blended family so there will be periods of time where the older two are visiting their dads.

Our long term goal is to invest in land/purchasing a home within an existing community that supports sustainable agriculture, organic gardening, alternative economy, and intuitive living & are looking forward to what will unfold on this Spirit-led adventure.
