Couple Seeking Meaningful Paid Work in your Community
Self-motivated couple seeking meaningful paid work in an intentional community, market farm or ranch. Our aim is to gain full-time membership in a community or save enough income to buy our own land. We are a skilled couple (ages 37 & 45) living in our Class A RV with our 6-year-old dog. We have several years of experience living on homesteads and off-grid intentional communities looking for a similar environment with like-minded folks. Travis (goes by the nickname Scout) is a project builder/carpenter, artist, and all-around handyman. Kim is a soapmaker, herbalist, gardener and works part-time for FIC. We love to hike off trail, forage wild mushrooms, craft & create with our hands, and share our common interests with others over a meal or campfire.
We’re hoping to find a community in which we can share and celebrate our self-sufficient lifestyle while also respecting one another’s relative autonomy. Our dream is to blend our life on the land with the way in which we source income. Our skills for hire include conventional construction (i.e. carpentry, drywall, light plumbing, roofing, etc), remodel & renovation, as well as some practical applications in natural building (i.e. timber frame, straw bale, earth bag, cob, wattle and daub & plaster). Also, garden & market farming, food preservation, herb cultivation & apothecary, animal husbandry and office/organizational assistance.
